Washuyama Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 It won't help you in the least, but I remember in the '70s, Andy Adams used to announce sumo live on Armed Forces Radio. I used to turn down the volume on the TV and listen to Andy.

shimodahito Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 good day all, yes, i do recall listening to sumo on the radio when i was in japan in 2003. it was live play-by-play (in japanese, of course). also, in mongolia, there are several radio stations that do live radio play-by-play (in mongolian). and in fact, when there's a great match and a mongolian wins, you'll often hear drivers (who are listening to the broadcast) honking their horns when the victory happens... the match that gave asa his first yusho created a lot of honking.... -shimododahito
