Jejima Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Kisenosato's day 13 opponent is S1W Baruto, so bad luck to those NOT on the Baruto band wagon (I am not worthy...) XiaoTan Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Hey - I was just getting you an easy win by not spoiling teh bandwagon, and I didn't even ask for 5 m Yen Day 14 Toyonoshima - so careful everyone not pick him
Jejima Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 For day 14.... A stab in the dark.... Komusubi Goeido! (I am not worthy...)
Asashosakari Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 With that record disparity? Very stabby! (I am not worthy...)
Jejima Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 With that record disparity? Very stabby! ;-) I wonder who Goeido is facing on day 13 (In a state of confusion...) ? ;-)
Asashosakari Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I wonder who Goeido is facing on day 13 (In a state of confusion...) ?;-) You got me! ;-)
Maguroyama Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Take a walk on the wild side - Kyokutenho
Yaochoyama Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I'm sittin' on the lead, so I'll take a walk on the wilder side: Yoshikaze
Jejima Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Kisenosato's day 14 opponent is.... B-) (Neener, neener...) (In a state of confusion...) (In a state of confusion...) (Sakke...) ...so no wins today then. I suspect the Torikumi makers have discovered our little game, and have decided to play with our minds. I think that is the most logical conclusion for that match-up ;-) Maguroyama [4-9-1] S Harry [4-9-1] Sokkenaiyama [6-6-2] K Jejima [5-9] XiaoTan [4-10] M1 Mae-zumo Holleshoryu [4-10] Yaochoyama [7-7] Unofficial Asashosakari [1-1-12] 1. XiaoTan Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) I'll stick with Toyonoshima for what it's not worth. Edited November 21, 2008 by XiaoTan
Yaochoyama Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Yes, it would be interesting to know the torikumi makers' rationale for putting yusho contender Yoshikaze against Koryu with two days to go while Kise fights the lower-ranked and inferior-recorded Robocop :-P :-( I'm rooting for a Yoshikaze yusho to teach them a good lesson :-S This is a fun little game, but one weakness is that a one-win up player going into senshuraku can just wait and then mimic his opponent's pick to win yusho. While not making it an actual rule, it would be a nice practice for the yusho leader to try and get his pick in early on Day 15 so that the other contenders could have the option to counter. In that spirit, I'm putting my pick in earlier than my usual time today. Day 15 - Toyonoshima

Sokkenaiyama Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Nice of Yaochoyama to point out that particular detail. A simple solution would be to just PM the pick to the GKA rijicho (that's Jezz, right?). Aaaanyway... Day 15 - Kyokutenho P.S. Someone named Yaochoyama (great shikona, by the way) is the yusho favorite... the irony is razor sharp, and I'm the one bleeding the worst.
Jejima Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 As I don't want to be PMed (and I like the side comments that this game generates), and as there are only a handful of us playing the least popular sumo game (ever), I think I prefer Yaochoyama's solution for the time being. From now on, the Yusho leader is expected (if at all possible) to get his (or her) entry in as early as possible to start the band wagon....
Jejima Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 I've been trying to work out what might happen with the torikumi. I am expecting a possible Yoshikaze vs Aminishiki match-up for day 15, and..... Toyonoshima vs Kisenosato
Maguroyama Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Oooh, bad basho for Maguroyama in GKA... so glad to be in the final in the KCC, for the second time this year! Well, that's beside the point. My final stab - Toyonoshima.
Yaochoyama Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Since basho ended a few days ago, let's get the final standings posted: Maguroyama [5-9-1] S Harry [5-9-1] Sokkenaiyama [6-7-2] K Jejima [6-9] XiaoTan [5-10] M1 Mae-zumo Holleshoryu [4-11] Yaochoyama [8-7] Unofficial Asashosakari [1-1-13] 1. Jejima Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Many thanks to Yaochoyama for doing the final day's results. Congratulations to Yaochoyama for a) Getting a KK (not that easy in this game)(Clapping wildly...) , and b) claiming the Yusho. (Clapping wildly...) Full results were as Yaochoyama published above. I am guessing that Kisenosato will be back in the sanyaku next basho (Clapping wildly...) I'll start working on the new banzuke for this game (Lifting weights...)
Jejima Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 As usual, the maezumo players get added to bottom of the banzuke (even if they have just managed to take the yusho (Clapping wildly...)). Basically, the Komusubis and Sekiwakes have done the ol' switcheroo, with XiaoTan propping up the bottom. At least, now he is joined by some friends in the joi-jin! Sokkenaiyama [K1E 6-7-2] S Jejima [K1W 6-9] Maguroyama [s1E 5-9-1] K Harry [s1W 5-9-1] XiaoTan [M1E 5-10] M1 Yaochoyama [mz 8-7] Holleshoryu [mz 4-11] M2 See you all (I hope) in January in this very unpopular game! Jejima
XiaoTan Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I guess I would claim the Yusho everytime if the game was called "Guess Who's not Kisenosato's Aide" :-) Nevertehless, I am happy for not being the last on the Banzuke anymore, even if it's just for one Basho.
