Around 8 years ago there was alot of hype around Svet and how Sumo was making some major head way in the US. In a great marketing campaign from Andrew Freund, Svet was on TV, in magazines, and all over the media talking about Sumo. Svet was the poster boy, and got people talking sumo that would ordinarily nver talk sumo.

I even read an article on him in Grappling magazine (mostly a mag about MMA and submission wrestling like ADCC).

What ever happen to Svet and Andrew? Are they still around? They did a lot for the sport. There was some talk about sumo in the Olympics around that time.

I had a quick google search. He has his own website http://www.svet.us/ but it seems a little old. There are also a couple of mentions on usasumo.com

Did a google search in Bulgarian (The name is: Светослав Бинев). No recent news about him :/
