saw a discussion on tv today speculating that the brothers' tests are to some degree orchestrated by various kyokai members to get Kitanoumi to step down due to his own recreuit's involvement

i thought that was an interesting perspective- i doubt the test results themselves would be faked, but is it possible someone would have known that Hakurozan would test positive and arranged the surpise tests without Kitanoumi's knowledge?

I think Wakanohou is singing in custody. He made a deal, and part of the deal was the brothers on a platter. The problem is the brothers did not admit guilt, nothing concrete was found on them or theirs, so they may get away with just a severe slap on the wrist.

The special word for today is "proof". "Using" is not against the law in Japan. They need "possession" to make it stick.

The moral issue remains. 1/2 basho suspension, and "Next!!".

Kitannoumi out, the brothers gone. It has been a rocky time for the one of the greatest Yokozuna's in history. The brothers will not be missed; one is bald the other unruly. I think that there are some within the kyokia who are generally dissatisfied with the current regime. But YMMV, and what the hey...
