Musashoryu Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 A couple of years ago a friend of mine came back from Japan with a small gift for me, it was a keyring of Musashimaru. now at the time i wasnt into sumo and it was a novelty item which i am happy to say i still own. How can i get a hold of some more of these? here is a link to some of Asa and Hakuho. http://picasaweb.google.com/aimee.terauchi...223744694488210 living in Australia I cant get to the bashos myself to get them so i wanted to know if there was some other way to get a hold of them?
Mark Buckton Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Nishinoshima will soon descend - hang on a bit. FWIW though - Kotoshogiku is not Bulgarian - you mean Kotooshu.
Otokonoyama Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Contacting Nishinoshima (a Sumo Forum member who deals in sumo memorabilia) may be a starting point.
Musashoryu Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 Thanks guys....yeah i know about Kotooshu the labelling is by the gril that posted the images ....not my piccy.....Nishinoshima has indeed already contacted me ! which is not so good for my wallet.....i am tempted by so much Sumo memorabilia!....what other stuff do they have?
Johnofuji Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 G'day Jasoshoryu Nishi is your man on the ground but I can probably get you some stuff for you at the Kyushu basho if you can hang out until November. Feel free to send us a PM with your email if you would like to know where to watch the Ozumo live via sattelite in Sydney.Pity you joined the forum too late to come to our Chanko and Sake night. I also have some old tapes you can have to show your students. Get them hooked whilst they are young.

If so, I would like to obtain a copy of a banzuke and a gunbai.

Yes Father V You will find Nishinoshima peddling his wares out of an old akeni at the back of the Ryogoku kokugikan during the basho. If you don't haggle too much he can get you the gunbai with the non slip grip and spikes. Or you might find him loitering around the amasumo forum about to tell us about the how the latest japanese fad banana diet is going to help him lose 30 kilos so he can fight as a lightweight. He might be hanging around Roppongi wearing oversized clothes and a baseball cap with NY logo and a rather large pair of combat boots-answers to the name "N" .Lots of pretty japanese and russian girls pouring him drinks
