Doitsuyama Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 The yusho race got a surprising twist today as both yusho favorites Asashoryu and Chiyotaikai lost, to the Ozeki pair of Tochiazuma and Chiyotaikai. Both losses were of a rather clear nature as well as the lightning fast win from Kotomitsuki against Takamisakari. So Kotomitsuki suddenly is really in the yusho race and at the current development the five rikishi at four losses can't be really counted out yet. Of course Asashoryu still is in the driver's seat, thanks to Chiyotaikai's loss. He still can clinch the yusho tomorrow with a win against Chiyotaikai with in-form Sekiwake Wakanosato beating Kotomitsuki. Toki, Tosanoumi and Tochinonada tumbling today means a twist in the Sanyaku promotion too. Now Iwakiyama looks pretty good for Komusubi next basho besides Kotomitsuki, or even ahead of him if they finish with the same record. Yotsukasa's shoulder very clearly is injured, but he still managed a close win against Buyuzan, which was especially important to him as this win most probably clinched his place in Makuuchi for the next basho. Asanowaka and Ushiomaru on the other side probably got demotion-securing losses today. Otsukasa, Kaiho and Wakanoyama still are in the danger zone. The two visiting Makuuchi Takekaze and Takanowaka still dominate the Juryo division, Tamakasuga now his officially out of the yusho race as he recorded his fourth loss during the two Zakura brother winning streak at the end of today's Juryo action. At the bootom it looks like Sentoryu will be demoted after recording his ninth loss today while Asofuji avoided the same fate with a win. -- Doitsuyama Makuuchi yusho arasoi Two losses Three losses Four losses Five losses Six losses ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- Asashoryu Chiyotaikai Tochiazuma Takamisakari Kaio Kotomitsuki Wakanosato Tamanoshima Kakizoe Kyokutenho Kinkaiyama Wakatoba Iwakiyama Yotsukasa Aminishiki Day 13 Juryo J13w Dewanofuji (7-6) oshidashi Ms5w Kotoiwakuni (4-3) J12e Juzan (7-6) oshidashi Ms4w Hokutojo (3-4) Ms2w Sumanofuji (3-4) oshidashi J11e Wakakosho (1-12) J12w Asofuji (5-8) hatakikomi J10e Oikari (6-7) J13e Tochifudo (4-9) oshidashi J9w Senshuyama (7-6) J9e Hayateumi (8-5) uwatenage J6w Masutsuyoshi (5-8) J10w Kaido (8-5) oshidashi J6e Aogiyama (4-9) J5w Kobo (6-7) okuridashi J7w Tochinohana (5-8) J5e Takekaze (12-1) hatakikomi J11w Sentoryu (4-9) J4w Futeno (4-9) yorikiri J3w Kasugao (3-8-2) J3e Takanowaka (11-2) hikiotoshi J8w Harunoyama (8-5) J2w Toyozakura (8-5) oshidashi J7e Chiyotenzan (6-7) J8e Kitazakura (8-5) hikiotoshi J1e Tamakasuga (9-4) Makuuchi M14w Wakanoyama (6-7) okuridashi J4e Kokkai (8-5) M12w Shimotori (6-7) yorikiri M15w Ushiomaru (5-8) M9w Aminishiki (9-4) uwatenage M11w Tamarikido (6-7) M13e Wakatoba (7-6) oshidashi M8w Jumonji (5-8) M10e Dejima (6-7) oshidashi M8e Kyokushuzan (6-7) M7w Tamanoshima (8-5) oshidashi M15e Otsukasa (6-7) M13w Yotsukasa (7-6) oshitaoshi M7e Buyuzan (6-7) M6w Tochisakae (4-9) hatakikomi M14e Asanowaka (4-9) M11e Kakizoe (7-6) oshidashi M5w Kasuganishiki (5-8) M4w Takanonami (6-7) hikiotoshi M3w Tokitsuumi (5-8) M10w Kaiho (4-9) okuridashi M3e Kotoryu (3-10) M2e Kyokutenho (9-4) yorikiri M9e Kinkaiyama (8-5) M6e Kotomitsuki (10-3) oshidashi M1e Takamisakari (8-5) M4e Asasekiryu (6-7) shitatenage K1w Tosanoumi (5-8) M5e Iwakiyama (9-4) oshidashi K1e Toki (6-7) S1w Miyabiyama (4-9) sukuinage M2w Hokutoriki (4-9) S1e Wakanosato (9-4) yorikiri M1w Tochinonada (6-7) O1e Kaio (7-6) oshidashi O1w Chiyotaikai (10-3) O2w Tochiazuma (9-4) yoritaoshi Y1e Asashoryu (11-2) Day 14 Makushita Ms17w Shigezakura (4-2) Ms14w Hamanoshima (4-2) Ms16e Yoshiazuma (3-3) Ms9w Daimanazuru (3-3) Ms8e Asahibenten (3-3) Ms15e Kotokuni (3-3) Ms6e Tamanokuni (3-3) Ms7w Daishodai (3-3) Ms3e Raiko (2-4) Ms8w Kotokanyu (2-4) Juryo Ms5e Towanoyama (4-2) J12w Asofuji (5-8) J10e Oikari (6-7) J12e Juzan (7-6) J8e Kitazakura (8-5) J8w Harunoyama (8-5) J7e Chiyotenzan (6-7) J9w Senshuyama (7-6) J13w Dewanofuji (7-6) J7w Tochinohana (5-8) J6e Aogiyama (4-9) J13e Tochifudo (4-9) J6w Masutsuyoshi (5-8) J5w Kobo (6-7) J11w Sentoryu (4-9) J4w Futeno (4-9) J3e Takanowaka (11-2) J9e Hayateumi (8-5) J11e Wakakosho (1-12) J3w Kasugao (3-8-2) J1e Tamakasuga (9-4) J10w Kaido (8-5) Makuuchi M14e Asanowaka (4-9) J4e Kokkai (8-5) J2w Toyozakura (8-5) M14w Wakanoyama (6-7) J5e Takekaze (12-1) M12w Shimotori (6-7) M11e Kakizoe (7-6) M13e Wakatoba (7-6) M8e Kyokushuzan (6-7) M9e Kinkaiyama (8-5) M13w Yotsukasa (7-6) M8w Jumonji (5-8) M7e Buyuzan (6-7) M15e Otsukasa (6-7) M15w Ushiomaru (5-8) M7w Tamanoshima (8-5) M5e Iwakiyama (9-4) M11w Tamarikido (6-7) M10w Kaiho (4-9) M5w Kasuganishiki (5-8) M3e Kotoryu (3-10) M10e Dejima (6-7) M2e Kyokutenho (9-4) M9w Aminishiki (9-4) M6w Tochisakae (4-9) M2w Hokutoriki (4-9) M1e Takamisakari (8-5) M4e Asasekiryu (6-7) K1e Toki (6-7) M4w Takanonami (6-7) M3w Tokitsuumi (5-8) K1w Tosanoumi (5-8) S1e Wakanosato (9-4) M6e Kotomitsuki (10-3) M1w Tochinonada (6-7) S1w Miyabiyama (4-9) O1e Kaio (7-6) O2w Tochiazuma (9-4) Y1e Asashoryu (11-2) O1w Chiyotaikai (10-3)
Asashosakari Posted September 19, 2003 Posted September 19, 2003 The yusho race got a surprising twist today as both yusho favorites Asashoryu and Chiyotaikai lost, to the Ozeki pair of Tochiazuma and Chiyotaikai. Looks like Chiyotaikai was inspired by Takekaze's recent performance against himself. (Applauding...)
Doitsuyama Posted September 19, 2003 Author Posted September 19, 2003 Hehe, just a test if anyone actually is reading what I write. (Applauding...)
Mikiro Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 (edited) Doitsuyama, I treasure all your posts and assumed your Chiyo-onanism was a result of a superior mind racing at near relativistic speed and this was just a red shifted event. Unfortunately, all my similar comments are a result of my dain bramage. Mikiro Edited September 20, 2003 by Mikiro
