Asashosakari Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) You're invited to play Sekitori-Toto, which is now open for registration for Haru 2008. As always, entries will become possible as soon as the Day 1 torikumi has been released. Rules in a nutshell: For all 35 or so sekitori bouts on each day of the basho, pick who you think will be the winner, or choose "X" for a guaranteed half-point. The best 50% of all active players for each day score a win, the other 50% a loss, with the most wins earning the yusho. The detailed rules can be found here. Good luck to all old and new players! ========== In case of persistent problems while trying to enter picks, please email them to sekitoto (at) gmx (dot) net and I'll try to get them added manually once the server is available again. ========== Edited March 10, 2008 by Asashosakari
Asashosakari Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Some 36 hours left. Day 1 picks can now be entered. (Laughing...) (Warning: The server seems a bit flaky right now, let's hope that's not a bad omen for the basho...)
Asashosakari Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 (edited) Day 1 results are now available. It only took two hours to get the scoring routine to kick in without a database timeout... (Clapping wildly...) Congrats Fukurou for scoring a ginboshi by being the only one to pick Hokutoriki's win against Baruto today. (Sign of approval...) Similarly, just two people picked Kakuryu over Kotomitsuki. And there seems to be a bug with the Shimotori-Masatsukasa bout in Sekitoto as well (as most/all other sumogames.com-hosted games)...he's listed as having received no picks, but that's obviously wrong. So if you're at the win/loss margin, take the Day 1 results with a grain of salt for now. Edited March 9, 2008 by Asashosakari
Fukurou Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Congrats Fukurou for scoring a ginboshi by being the only one to pick Hokutoriki's win against Baruto today. (Clapping wildly...) Similarly, just two people picked Kakuryu over Kotomitsuki. I got a ginboshi? (Applauding...) Wow, good, I didn't notice that on the results page - oh wait, that's on the Daily results, not the overall results, right? That's my first ginboshi to go with 2 kinboshi over the years (the most recent was in 2002). It's still a big kick (Applauding...) And there seems to be a bug with the Shimotori-Masatsukasa bout in Sekitoto as well (as most/all other sumogames.com-hosted games)...he's listed as having received no picks, but that's obviously wrong. So if you're at the win/loss margin, take the Day 1 results with a grain of salt for now. So then, being on the borderline, maybe there's a slight possibility to potentially change that ginboshi to a kinboshi? (Sign of approval...) Better not get too greedy though....
Asashosakari Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 The Shimotori problem has been fixed. Still a ginboshi. (Sign of approval...)
Fujisan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Well I haven't seen anything from Toto today and I've been trying for the best part of 4 hours. :'-(
Vikanohara Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) I've got problems to enter my picks for about 4 daily games today, so it's not only Seki-Toto. And as I need to leave for work in 1,5 hour I guess I won't be able to enter my picks for most of these games. :'-( Edited March 10, 2008 by Vikanohara
Golynohana Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I've got problems to enter my picks for about 6 daily games today, so it's not only Seki-Toto.And as I need to leave for work in 1,5 hour I guess I won't be able to enter my picks for most of these games. :'-( you can always send your picks by e-mail
Heikotoriki Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 you can always send your picks by e-mail Is this the right e-mail adress for st? stk @ anasuya . com And the adress for ISP?
Asashosakari Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 Is this the right e-mail adress for st? stk @ anasuya . com Somebody remind me to put the correct address on the next update of the front page. :'-( Send picks to sekitoto (at) gmx (dot) net please.
Golynohana Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) for toto I always use max at anasuya . com or sumo at anasuya . com for ISP I would use Kintamayama's e-mail CC to Kofuji (kofuji at sumogames) in both cases wouldn't harm :'-( EDIT: Please, better use e-mail address posted by Asashosakari. (Applauding...) Edited March 10, 2008 by Golynohana
Golynohana Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 seki-quad: golynohana at gmail dot com isp - i guess - motidi at yahoo dot com and you can always send e-mail via sumoforum BTW sumogames.com seems to work better now.
Vikanohara Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) Sent Seki-Toto through e-mail. Will check ISP as soon as I come home, as with that later deadline I could still be in time for that. I was able to enter all other picks, but I fear I had to rush a little. (Applauding...) So I know already what to blame for possible bad results on day 3. :'-( EDIT : And just when I was about to log off, the doors finally opened ! (Applauding...) Edited March 10, 2008 by Vikanohara
Fujisan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Asashosakari, I sent my picks by personal messenger because I really didn't have the time to email them... Hope thats okay with you....
Fukurou Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) ==========In case of persistent problems while trying to enter picks, please email them to sekitoto (at) gmx (dot) net and I'll try to get them added manually once the server is available again. ========== After trying intermittently over 5 hours I finally got my daily picks in to both ISP and SekiToto within about a 20 minute period. Maybe things are loosening up a little? Is it my imagination, or are things already worse than usual? It can't be helping the issue that games seem to be migrating *to* sumogames dot com (adding to the load) instead of away from it (easing the load). Edited March 10, 2008 by Fukurou
Fukurou Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) for toto I always use max at anasuya . com or sumo at anasuya . com for ISP I would use Kintamayama's e-mail Is it confirmed that any ISP picks emailed to that address would be accepted? CC to Kofuji (kofuji at sumogames) in both cases wouldn't harm (Clapping wildly...) Emailing someone with a sumogames email address about a problem with the sumogames server seems like a losing proposition to me. Would the email even get through? Edited March 10, 2008 by Fukurou
Taka Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Toto working as I'm writing this. Midway through emailing my picks I try one last time and it works. I think that has happened before...
Golynohana Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Emailing someone with a sumogames email address about a problem with the sumogames server seems like a losing proposition to me. Would the email even get through? Sure. The problems with the server are connected mainly with database servers. There should be no problem with sending e-mails
Ganzohnesushi Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) Rush... rush... after several hours of trying from time to time entry for S-Toto finally worked. Maybe its working only for a few minutes, so better hurry.... In case some money is needed to extend server capacity, I'm willing to contribute also. messi19 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) Hello Asashosakari, last night at about 1 am CET, I sent an email with my Day 4 picks to the address you indicated in this thread. My shikona is Nikishima. Didn't you receive them? Edited March 12, 2008 by messi19
Asashosakari Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 last night at about 1 am CET, I sent an email with my Day 4 picks to the address you indicated in this thread. My shikona is Nikishima. Didn't you receive them? I did, and I was going to add yours and some other picks just now, but the database promptly died on me again after entering two sets of picks. It'll get done sometime today, promised. ;-)
Hidariashiyama Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) I don't have time to deal with trying Toto again and again and again. I also emailed Day 4 and Day 5 to sekitoto at gmx dot net This is the email addy in the first post. Edited March 13, 2008 by Hidariashiyama
Asashosakari Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) (not in direct response to Hidariashiyama) (Applauding...) (Applauding...) (Applauding...) (Applauding...) (Hit the wall...) Apologies for the smiley-based outburst, but if there's something worse than being unable to submit one set of picks, it's being unable to submit half a dozen. Sigh. I'll get the Day 4 and 5 picks added eventually and rescore Day 4, until then I can only ask for your patience. Edited March 12, 2008 by Asashosakari
Asashosakari Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Everything I received should be added and rescored now.
