Fay Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 At the Shiodome centre. Kotoshoki and Kotokobai are looking for something - not for me, I wasn't too late but just in time. No they found out about a mother turtle which is in fact a beautiful fountain And he really published our pics (Clapping wildly...) and said that he is glad, that he becomes popular also in Germany. He told in his blog that this (crazy ;-) - no he didn't say that of course) woman comes to look to sumo and assist him for 15 days. He brought a little joke to the dinner: I said I can use it next year for carnival and explained it to him. He asked if I could use a mawashi too (Sign of disapproval...) . Well it's better for me and the world if I take a yukata, I think ;-).
Harry Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) In the west at least, V for victory should actually be done palm out and with the arms raised high; Later it became the peace sign, however. V with the palm in was an old English peasant taunt; I'm told it meant "we can still shoot you with our long bows" because they'd cut off their fingers if caught. It was definitely insulting however and some politician or other got it wrong after WWII. As well, the way the Japanese hold it over their mouth looks strange to me. More like something a bit lewd out of a bad Woody Harrelson bowling movie which is unfortunately forever burned into my brain... but I know the Japanese don't mean it that way, it's just how they do it. Kintamayama Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Kotoshougiku's blog had 150,000 hits in one day yesterday. He was on the "Junk Sports" TV show, and that brought an avalanche of hits. "A lot of new visitors came, and that is very important..", said Shogun.
Fay Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Kotoshogiku went fishing with Kotomisen and Kotokobai. They had a hotel with a nice ocean view as well as a viw to the Mt Fuji. Shoki likes fishing cause it's good for the concentratioon. For the body refreshment they took a bath in the hot springs and decided to go to bed early cause the tour starts at 5 early in the morning.
Fay Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Shoki, Misen and Kobai started their fishing tour early in the morning at 5am. Kotomisen first has a little practise in the beach and Kotokobai tries to fish with his hands. Kotomisen gets the first fish and Kobai was sucessful too and finally Shoki got two little fish too. Misen and Kobai playing Titanic All enjoyed their little tour.
Fay Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 One day tournament in the Kokugikan. kotoshogiku lost in the 3rd round. He will work hard for the Nagoya Basho.
Fay Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 The practise started again on monday and it made Shoki very hungry. During chanko former maegashira Daishi came to visit the stable. He is now a singer and Shoki presents the new songs from Daishi.
Fay Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Shoki and his colleagues are on their way to the Los Angeles Jungyo and he had to prepare his case. But something is missing ... ... of course his sweets and his strawberry cake (I dunno...) Kotokobai and Kotomyozan think he should better take some clothes instead of all this sweets, his haiwaian shirt for example I'll be back soon!!! (sound like a threat ;-))
Fay Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 LA arrival The rikishi were separated in two groups, didn't put all of them in one airplane for security reasons. But Shoki was with his close friends Goeido and Toyonoshima They arrived safely, first impressions of LA Toyonoshima has a little jetlag But Shoki on search for a restaurant as it seems (I am not worthy...) and I'm glad he got enough to eat (A sekitori...), especially his sweets. And he doesn't go to sleep without checking his blog and updating it.
Fay Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 Kotoshogiku and some more rikishi took a tour at Universal studios. Shrek, fire, earthquakes, airplane crashes .........
Fay Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 Kotosgogiku had some computer problems after returning from the US. And I was a bit lazy ... he brought a lot of sweets back to Japan and some members for his Gab family. some dolls, when they give them water grass will grow on their heads ... some more pics from the universal tour Shoki, Misen and Kobai care good for their dolls, the grass is already growing ...
Fay Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 I'm a bit hard working and Shoki is busy with his blog and his preparations for Nagoya. He rewards himself with two other strawberry cakes, still cares for his grass puppets and also Kotomisen is busy with his training - and he has to, to avoid another Make koshi :-D
Fay Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 The luggage for Nagoya is arranged and Shoki gives us a little picture puzzle. he went out to have a delicious hot indian curry The grass ist still growing on the puppets and Shoki can't decide who is the winner.
Fay Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 Boiled rice As there are 23 rikishi at Sadogatake, they need boiled rice at infinitum :-). Take four of these boxes of rice Put them in the kettle Wash it carefully Cook it And the boiled rice is ready And it
Fay Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 Off to Nagoya Shoki is on his way to Nagoya and of course also the new family members join him with their hair waving in the wind ... After the journey he takes a bath and refreshes himself with a lemonade. Shoki shows us an article from an Us magazine about the sumo tour and he complains a bit that they wrote his name wrong. aaah these glasses .......... :-O Nagoya is full of delicious food he says, they look forward to it and we can look forward to see more of Shoki (pardon- Kotoshogiku) enjoying full plates of food :-O
Fay Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 Oh, oh, Kotoshogiku on the playground, he is reminiscing (is this a word?) about his childhood. But he shouldn't lean too much on the horizontal bar (On the banzuke...) Banzuke was announced. Kotoshogiku still is Sekiwake west for the third time in a row. Although he may smile a bit too much for some people (Chased by the fans...) he is serious with his training and does his best to have a good result in the Nagoya Basho.
Fay Posted July 2, 2008 Author Posted July 2, 2008 (edited) Shoki feels fine, the weather is good, only a little rain. He is training seriously. After his training he needs a big, big meal. First chanko: then a nagoya speciality a cup of rice another one a big cup one more and ready (we will see if it works out in Nagoya (Whistling...) ) Edited July 2, 2008 by Fay

That-Satsu-Guy Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) then a nagoya speciality Yuck! :-) Schnitzel with tar? Hey! What's wrong with miso-katsu? Tonkatsu is my favorite food! The restaurant chain 和幸 (Wako) makes a nice tonkatsu. If you ever get the chance, give it a try! http://www.wako-group.co.jp/02shop_re_menu.html Edited July 4, 2008 by That-Satsu-Guy
Fay Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Shoki presents us the new design of his blog with a painting of a former Sadogatake wrestler: Kotosurugi. The grass on the puppet's heads was growing so fast that Kotomisen, Kotoshogiku and Kotokobai can dress their hair to a mage (Showing respect...) The new Ozumo magazine with a report about Sadogatake Beya and of course Kotoosho on the cover picture (And next time I want to see Shoki on the title :-) )
Chiyomaru Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 The grass dolls are very nice! I had some too when I was a child.
