It was mentioned briefly in the news on day 16 of Haru, but it was largely ignored because it was a much better story that he pulled an unjustified henka on defenseless Kotoshogiku and that Kisenosato pulled off a heroic double win on senshuraku.  It is also why he is now kyujo for the jungyo.
