Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Do n't be a extreme. IN his own time, who cares the mage and kimono. I bet Japanese Emperor don't wear Kimono all the time. I still hope that Asa quit sumo and leave the sumo to Mrs Uchidate and her followers. Asa should quit sumo and start Mongolian Sumo dohyo in Ulaanbaatar I now agree with you (and I mean ALL of you that think Asa is an innocent victim of persecution..) fully. He should leave. Hopefully, all his ultra-devoted fans who are blinded by whatever it is they are blinded will leave with him and become great fans of Bokh. But you know what? Your idol is not only going to stay, but he's going to grovel and slither so low it will make you proud. Ask yourself this: Why? Why is he going to lower himself to new depths just to continue a career where everybody surrounding him only wants him to fail and is trying to get rid of him? What point is he trying to make? He is going to make so many rounds of apologies it's going to make your head swirl. Maybe we should put a tent over his Oyakata's and his head and call it a circus. Why? Why is he doing this? What does he need it for? He's done enough for sumo no? Maybe he's worried that the whole sport will fall apart as he leaves the building.. Why is he playing along? Instead of sending the Kyokai to hell, he is going to meekly apologize to everyone, including Ms. Uchidate, thereby acknowledging he was wrong in front of the whole world. His actions will be scrutinized even more from now on. He'll be looked at through a magnifying glass 24/7. What does he need THAT for? What does he gain out of this? He wants to show them all that he can break some obscure record he still hasn't broken? Where is his pride? The warrior? Where? Maybe, just maybe, he's a lot smarter than you-he GETS it. His livelihood depends on it. He isn't doing anyone any favor-it's the other way around. The YDC circus is going to be very painful for you, sir. I'll probably be somewhere else by then.
Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 I agree with Petr 100%. I'm pretty sure she has done more for sumo at all levels than the entire memberships of this forum combined. .... while Asashoryu has done 100 times more for sumo than this pretty lady. So, why didn't he quit the second they bamboozled him? Huh? Why is he sticking around? Why is he going to lick the shoes of this "pretty lady" and not the other way around? Why?

Not clear to me what point you are trying to make. Asashoryu hasn't gone to any "depths". What he's accused of are ridiculous trivialities that the NSK has blown out of all proportions. I reckon Asashoryu will "apologize" if he is forced to -- but forced apologies carry no weight. Why will he do this? Because sumo is his life. I can't see much wrong with this; I'd probably do so either if I were in his shoes. He will have to swallow his pride for a moment, but his future is in the hands of jerks and the jerks want an apology, so what can he do. Will this be painful for me and other implicated fans of sumo? (Foot in mouth...) Hahaha, hell no. This is silly NSK staged theatre, as important as whether a bicycle falls over in Beijing. IN one word: a travesty. In my humble opinion, the folks lacking pride and honor are in the NSK. They have run sumo with an incometence that has brought the sport down to its knees, and they stilll don't get it that they are the problem. Astonishingly, there are still sumo fans who play along with this. (Showing respect...) As for Asashoryu, the bottom line is: I just want him back. Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Not clear to me what point you are trying to make. I shall clarify. Asashoryu hasn't gone to any "depths". What he's accused of are ridiculous trivialities that the NSK has blown out of all proportions. He will go to depths of apology hitherto unknown to man.. So why is he still around? I reckon Asashoryu will "apologize" if he is forced to -- but forced apologies carry no weight. Why will he do this? Because sumo is his life. I can't see much wrong with this; I'd probably do so either if I were in his shoes. He will have to swallow his pride for a moment, but his future is in the hands of jerks and the jerks want an apology, so what can he do. Right, so why tolerate these jerks? They're not going anywhere, they won't make his life easier from now on. As for the weight of apology, either you've never been to Japan or you choose to ignore the facts. The Japanese public will forever remember him as the guy who admitted he was wrong... Will this be painful for me and other implicated fans of sumo? (Foot in mouth...) Hahaha, hell no. There are many fans who value tradition as opposed to modernization. That is the main point Asa and some of his more vocal fans don't seem to acknowledge, but most of his fans are temporary sumo fans anyway- just like the Baruto fans and Rohou fans-they'll go when they go. As for Asashoryu, the bottom line is: I just want him back. To have a proper basho in January, after two NSK-ordered fake tournaments. Why? Why do you want him back? Proud to bow to the members of the AWESOME COMMITTEE..

Asa was going up to break all the records. If they did not ban him. He could have added 2 more win in his record. I hope and pray for Asa that he is fit enought to beat all Well, to me it seems Asa is much weaker than KaioU and Taikai put together, at least mentally and his handling of all this, sitting in a dark room and becoming all depressed and stuff.. So they stopped him from breaking the records and banned him. Why in blazes is he playing their game and not leaving?

Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 Incidentally ( (Showing respect...) ), with these two bashos Asa would have caught up with this most impartial NSK chairman, the honorable and competent Mr. Kitanoumi. (Foot in mouth...) (I was stupid...) I beg to differ. If anything, the last two bashos he did participate weren't that good for him, especially the last one, where he was supposedly totally injured. I don't know if he was, but he sure didn't seem imposing and in control as in the past, to put it mildly. And if he's that good, he should have no problem catching up with Kitanoumi in one basho.. Sooo..., is he sticking around and bearing this humiliation just to break that record? I still can't figure out why he is staying.
Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Why? Why do you want him back? You want him back so he can participate and help the incompetent Kyokai? I fail to see the logic here. I totally fail to see the logic. I think I want to him to come back and break the records at least Kitanoumi's 24 records. It is for the self esteem, persoanl pride and high professioanl goal. At the end, it will prove that Asashoryu is the one who is in love with SUMO Edited November 27, 2007 by Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj
HenryK Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Why? Why do you want him back? You want him back so he can participate and help the incompetent Kyokai? Because I love sumo and sumo needs Asashoryu. The NSK is NOT sumo, btw, as you seem to imply. The NSK is supposed to organize the sport, promote its populairity, and secure its finances. Unfortunately it does a devastatingly poor job at it, as the recent two fake bashos demonstrate. I fail to see the logic here. I totally fail to see the logic. Sure. Logic is evidently not your strong point. I reckon Asashoryu will "apologize" if he is forced to -- but forced apologies carry no weight. Why will he do this? Because sumo is his life. Why doesn't he leave? No. Asashoryu is the strawman. The directing, acting and lightening are all done by the NSK. Also the ticket sales, which are in sharp decline. Astonishingly, there are still sumo fans who play along with this. (Showing respect...) No, there are MANY sumo fans who have had enough of his antics. There are many fans who value tradition as opposed to modernization. (Bye, bye...) ;-) (I was stupid...) (Foot in mouth...) Meaning: non-Japanese should be allowed to do sumo only if they lose. This is unrelated to tradition. This relates to a word starting with R. That is the main point Asa and some of his more vocal fans don't seem to acknowledge, but most of his fans are temporary sumo fans anyway- just like the Baruto fans and Rohou fans-they'll go when they go. I see. There are class A sumo fans that include yourself (understood) and hate Asashoryu (per definition). And there are class B sumo fans who fancy fair and meaningful competition. But they are type B fans, and hence they don't count. First perfectly with what you've uttered in your previous phrase, Mr. "Traditionalist". Edited November 27, 2007 by HenryK
Clamu Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 No, Kintaamaayaama, you will always be here, until you have set the record for 1 Million postings. My guess is that you don`t have much of a life anyway, so the fans of sumo will always cherish your anal... eh I mean analytical postings.... TO ALL ASA HATERS OF THIS FORUM: Wait till the January Basho is over and then shut up for good and all times. CLAMU (Showing respect...) : Asashoryu.
Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I still can't figure out why he is staying. Can't you really figure out highest goal of any sportsmen and women? By staying in the sport, he can achieve his goal which is everybody wants to see. If he fails to do so ( break the records) , then it is waste of time to come back

"It's his job" is a lame answer, since if it is his job, he should be doing it by the rules, regardless of what HE thinks they are. As for shutting up, please don't shut me up. I still have about 800000 posts to go for the million. And if God forbid Asa falls flat on his face in January, will you stop contributing to this forum, as you have so graciously contributed in the past? That would be very sad indeed. Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Well, to me it seems Asa is much weaker than KaioU and Taikai put together, at least mentally and his handling of all this, sitting I meant that If Asa became weak like Kaio, he should retire. But Asa is not like Kaio. If Asa did yaocha like Taikai did in favor Kaio, he should retire too. But Asa is not like Taikai who completely dishonoured sumo audience who already purchased the tickets to see him. Asa should retire, If Asa gets too relaxed like Hakuho who fails to show interesting sumo (Hakuho showed lack of professioanal self esteem to sumo audience by falling after he was certain to win) If Asa beat somebody or killed somebody like those in Tokitsukaze murder case, Asa should be punished ------------------ what did Asa do horribly wrong....oh no, He just entertained poor kids by playing with them 15 minutes. what a crime Edited November 27, 2007 by Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj
Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 Sure. Logic is evidently not your strong point. Why on earth would you say that? Let us keep this civil, shall we? I wrote this already. Because sumo is his life, and the jerks hold the power levers in their hands. My logic says this: If sumo is his life, he should be doing it and following it by the rules, the rules these "jerks" are trying to keep. You can't have it both ways. Either you play by the rules, or you go. No. Asashoryu is the strawman. The directing, acting and lightening are all done by the NSK. Also the ticket sales, which are in sharp decline. Well, they have been in decline in Fukuoka for quite a while, regardless of the strawman. Not being logical is one thing, but disregarding the facts..tsk tsk. No, there are MANY sumo fans who have had enough of his antics. There are many fans who value tradition as opposed to modernization. (Sigh...) :-D (Neener, neener...) (Yusho winner...) I take it by this very deeply thought out and learned response that you disagree with me-there are NO fans out there who value tradition etc,. correct? Meaning: non-Japanese should be allowed to do sumo only if they lose. I was wondering when the xenophobia angle will finally be introduced.. Never mind that many Japanese wrestlers (much more than foreigners..) were punished in the past for far less. This is unrelated to tradition. This relates to a word starting with R. Ramblings?

By staying in the sport, he can achieve his goal which is everybody wants to see. If he fails to do so ( break the records) , then it is waste of time to come back No matter what cost he pays in pride, humiliation., etc?? Where's the limit of endurance? What will be the last straw, if anything? I understand a sportsman wanting to reach the very top, but at what cost to his mental health?

"It's his job" is a lame answer, since if it is his job, he should be doing it by the rules, regardless of what HE thinks they are. More to it: he should do it according to the whims of the NSK. The very same respectable organziation that allows young rikishi to die during training. The same respectable organization that, according to overwhelming evidence, has enganged in match fixing for decades. The same respectable organziation whose chairman was accused of sexual assault, claims that have never been properly investigated. The same respectable organziation that has brought sumo to its knees -- they couldn't even sell out the final days of the Kyushu basho. Yeah, this NSK should continue to define the "rules" of the sport -- for example, banning Asashoryu for playing soccer at a charity event (or was it for threatening to surpass Kitanoumi's basho record?) (Neener, neener...) Btw, I fancy Asashoryu because he is damn good rikishi and I love sumo. No more no less. (Yusho winner...)
Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 No, Kintaamaayaama cannot and will never understand, it is a waste of time to even read his stupid postings. Having trouble reading what other people think? Other views? Have you stopped to think what has your knickers around your throat? I asked one simple question-why is Asashouryuu willing to go through all of this humiliation and not quit? And that has you crying? I never said anything against him or for him. Never a bad word. Just asked, and look at you, all distraught and stuff..
HenryK Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I still can't figure out why he is staying. Even though it explained it to you several times now: because sumo is his life. Got it now? Or should I write it bold and in capital letters?

The answer is: If jerks have your life in your hand and force you to apologize, so be it. Little humiliation involved, if any. (even if you wish so badly the opposite were true)
Kintamayama Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 Well, to me it seems Asa is much weaker than KaioU and Taikai put together, at least mentally and his handling of all this, sitting I meant that If Asa became weak like Kaio, he should retire. So I wouldn't be too quick to accuse anyone of yaocho. We all know it's not true in all these cases.
