Kotooshu - Sekiwake in March 08?

Will bad knees, pressure and lack of confidence cause Kotooshu to miss his 8 in January and drop him to Sekiwake?

I think he'll do just enough in Hatsu to get his 8 wins. I, for one, would rather see him get his knee back to 100%. If that means demotion, then, so be it. But, it's not my decision to make, nor my paycheck that will be affected one way or the other. I just think if he doesn't get his knee fixed, it'll nag him for years and probably lead to demotion down the line and probably early retirement.

In January he will face Asashoryu; on the other hand, Kotomitsuki and Kotoshogiku are strong Sanyuaku whom we will not have to face. So, a cheesy( right knee) Kotooshu will likely get his 8.

I agree with you. I can't imagine that Kotooshu will not able to reach kachi-koshi in january.
