I think so. None of the footage of him on the news ever showed him crying. The monent someone touches their face though, ALL the shutters go crazy. The same thing happened with Tokitaizan's father. He never shed a tear publicly, but the moment he wiped his face 1000 sad dad photos hit the newspapers.

Anyway, this thread has my vote for best title.

Even more troubling. If he just acknowledged that sumo training is intense, problem deshi are sometimes exposed to even higher levels of discipline, and unfortunately the rare death occurs due to unknown health concerns and/or crossing a fine line between exploring a deshi's extreme limits and hazing...

The whitewashing is most distasteful.
