Qijuryu Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I wonder about the silence about Baruto. Are there any news around what about his knee and if he'll be back already at Aki ? Another kyujo certainly means demotion to Makushita which to be honest I assess will not be a big disaster for him anyway as he will return to Makuuchi briskly after another two Bashos when he is of good health. Arvi Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 The link to article in Postimees from August 29 http://www.postimees.ee/290807/esileht/sport/279585.php Shortly: "I can't say that the knee is OK now, but it isn't very bad too"
Kotononami Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Did he talk about his Aki participation in this article? Thanks
Arvi Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Did he talk about his Aki participation in this article? Thanks ... The goal for Baruto on Aki-basho is to remain healthy and to win as much as possible. "The main goal for every tournament is to get more wins as losses," did he say. "But importantest is, that knee (holds). Surely I have to tape it tight"
Fujisan Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 An injured Baruto should still be strong enough for the competition in juryo.
Yuriyama Ren Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Another short tidbit about Baruto: http://www.delfi.ee/news/sport/sumo/article.php?id=16843814 He thinks he has recovered well and says the injury wasn't that bad this time. There hasn't been enough time for recuperation. He hasn't skipped any training because training is best for healing... He picked a new doctor after the last injury. He's sure he'll participate in Aki and the target is to get KK.

He's sure he'll participate in Aki and the target is to get KK. I think he's deluding himself to be honest. He needs to have surgery to cure his knee once and for all, then recuperate fully and just start over again. He's young enough. But he won't, of course.
