Since jun-yusho isn't official and pretty much made up from me I can make my own rules... I feel someone with same win differential, but more draws should be ahead, so I did remove the jun-yusho for Komagatake in 1910.01. It's just 1 win for wins, 0.5 wins for draws, 0 for losses and absences in my mind, as sumo generally isn't very kind to absences. I'm not sure that's right, because in those days it was possible to get an absent day without being at fault (opponent goes kyujo -> yasumi for both) . I could swear I saw one yusho result that was decided on the same issue, but I'll have to take a look again because I don't remember the details at the moment.
Asashosakari Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 (edited) This is an odd one. Jonokuchi in 1962.03 had three 6-1's as the top score, but one of the yusho-doten and a playoff bout are attached to a guy who was 0-0-7, while one of the 6-1's is left out. If I had access to the sumodb code I would investigate running a script that reuploads videos under a hidden account to keep them safe. Would take some work, but it's doable... dada78641 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 That is very strange. I still see the "videos only" option. I can't fathom why it would not show up for you.

Akinomaki Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) I think I might post the differences between articles I read and videos about rikishi mainly of the past and the database contents to this thread. Doitsuyama Posted November 1, 2017 Author Posted November 1, 2017 Well, the Kyokai has changed the site design and programming again, and this time I'm not able to grab the pages automatically. When I find some time, I certainly can update the new banzuke, but it's not looking good for timely grabbing of pairings and results during the basho. If someone finds a way to capture the data from the redesigned NSK page, well, any help is welcome to direct me to do this.

Akinomaki Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 (edited) Without the daily results, my basho pics overview won't work. This means for me: save each page manually with the Scrapbook add-on and filter the data out with a new subroutine - not what I planned to do before the basho. Edited November 2, 2017 by Akinomaki

Akinomaki Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 (edited) Doitsuyama needs both the Japanese and the English pages - and I do as well. To make the download automatic, one needs a custom javascript for those pages (and later the daily result pages) that calls this table_ajax function on the website (or clicks on the buttons) to open the different pages for each division - jonidan has 3 - does a save_as as complete website to get the database contents in the html code, names the pages properly - and then one can process the html files to extract the data. Benihana Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Contacting the NSK and asking for easier access to the data is futile, i presume? 1
dada78641 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Yeah, it seems they just return a big chunk of HTML by AJAX. https://gist.github.com/msikma/fd353b5f309291d1f7b93c0a53acc9f0 Unfortunately I don't have time this weekend to actually help out any further, but then I'm also not 100% sure what needs to be done...
Pandaazuma Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 This is not good. What a nightmare for Doitsuyama - as if he needed more work. Why on earth do they keep changing their pages like this?? Can any of our programming experts propose a solution?
Pandaazuma Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Regarding the results for the Makushita jo'i, Juryo and Makuuchi, one option (if we come down to it) is to update the results manually - I would be happy to do this if someone can give me some instructions on how to do this in a way that allows the database to update automatically. I can add the winning techniques, of course. I won't be able to do any results for the lower ranks though as I am usually working at that time. I suppose I could update those later, from reading the Kyokai site results. Let me know if you need me.
Akinomaki Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 If I can't get the results from the database, I will have to save all NSK pages manually (because I don't know yet how to create the script I mentioned in an earlier post to do that automatically) and extract the scrapbook data - then I can share them if required. 1
