Gusoyama Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I have a feeling these will be easier than Nishinoshima's but here goes anyway:
Randomitsuki Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 1. I know, but have forgotten 2. From the colours, it should be Jeunet. Probably "Amelie" (or maybe The City of Lost Children) 4. Ran? If not, then Kagemusha, I tend to confuse these two. 5. Raising Arizona 7. Touch of Evil? 8. Lost in Translation 9. Chinatown 10. Donnie Darko?
Itachi Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 6. Better off dead... It could be! I can't be sure as I haven't seen the movie since it came out but I remember the bit about, "I want my two dollars!" during the ski chase that concluded the movie. As a kid, I found that really funny. (When did that come out?) 4. Ran? If not, then Kagemusha, I tend to confuse these two.5. Raising Arizona 4. I believe it is Ran. It's been a while since I've seen that one too but the bright colours make me think of Ran. I'd like to see that one again now. 5. No guessing necessary on this one. What a fun movie that was to see! That one's on my shelf. Raising Arizona without a doubt.
Gusoyama Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 Guessed correctly 1. Empire of the Sun 2. Amelie 3. 4. Ran 5. Raising Arizona 6. Better off Dead 7. Touch of Evil 8. Lost in Translation 9. Chinatown 10.
Randomitsuki Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 10. Brick (for whatever reason I thought it was Jake Gyllenhaal on the image). BTW, if these are 10 movies you love, they make a good split between movies I love (Ran, Raising Arizona, Touch of Evil), movies I find so-so (Empire of the Sun, Amelie, Chinatown), and movies that I loathe wholeheartedly (Lost in Translation, Brick)...
Gusoyama Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 10 is indeed Brick. I'll give a hint on #3: It was released in 1935, and took place in Scotland. They're all movies I love with a passion. I'm always interested in what people have to say about various movies. What didn't you like about Brick?
Gusoyama Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 #3 is indeed "The 39 steps", one of Hitchcocks most underrated films, IMHO.
