maxim Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) Hakuho. Asashoryu just lost against Chiyotaikai and Kotooshu lost against Hakuho. Welcome to a long new period of two yokozunas. Edited May 24, 2007 by maxim
Kintamayama Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hakuho. Asashoryu just lost against Chiyotaikai and Kotooshu lost against Hakuho. Welcome to a long new period of two yokozunas. Three more bouts to go. A loss by Hakuhou and wins by Asa, not entirely Science Fiction, can still bring the decisive bout on senshuraku. Let's wait and see..
aderechelsea Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I am a happy man today ..... Asashoryu will bounce back soon and a great Yokozuna rivalry will be born. Exciting times !!!!
aderechelsea Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hakuho. Let's wait and see.. even with that scenario the tsuna looks like it is certain....
Koneko Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) OMG (In a state of confusion...) Congrats to Hakuho - a bit early perhaps, but he'll do it, I'm sure. The following days will be interesting indeed. Thanks for the update, Maxim! Edited May 24, 2007 by Koneko
aderechelsea Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Thanks for the update, Maxim! aren't you watching the bouts online? You shouldn't miss this action !!!!!
Umut66 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Wooohooo (Clapping wildly...) Go Hakuho Go !!! (In a state of confusion...)
Asojima Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Three more bouts to go. A loss by Hakuhou and wins by Asa, not entirely Science Fiction, can still bring the decisive bout on senshuraku. Let's wait and see.. It will take three losses by Haku to lose the tsuna.
Zingo Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hmm... "in the yusho race day 15" by definition... jun-y, at least... Shouldn't even three losses do it... or?
Umut66 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I dont think Hakuho will give up after he came here....He will win !!!
Tikozan Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 ...and he want to beat Asashoryu. Match on Day 14 I think... But first he must win against Kotomitsuki...
Shimpu Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Chiyotaikai ! Nice to see him on full speed once again. It's a payback for a previous encounter. (In a state of confusion...) Asashoryu was a bit "out of himself" though. I have to say I'm really impressed. Hakuho is really tough guy right now. Really complex package. Bout against Kaio was really impressive and showed his versatility and strength. I don't think Hakuho's yusho is in the bag right now. Still 3 days to go.

Asashoryu's right arm was obviously hurting, but indeed, great job for Chiyotaikai.
Kotononami Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Kotomitsuki has beaten Hakuho twice since Aki 06. He can do it again! Gambatte for your ozeki run Koto!
Doitsuyama Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hmm... "in the yusho race day 15" by definition... jun-y, at least... Shouldn't even three losses do it... or? A jun-yusho is not a guarantee actually. With five rikishi at 10-2, Hakuho could end up 12-3 behind several rikishi at 13-2.
Koneko Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 aren't you watching the bouts online? You shouldn't miss this action !!!!! You don't say... (In a state of confusion...) Thanks to a sucky computer I can't see anything and will have to wait until June for Eurosport to show it. And then they will cramp everything into 5 X 1 hour, giving each day of the basho about twenty minutes of air time. Or rather fifteen, after the comercials. Yay. Though I should be grateful, I suppose - without it I wouldn't get the chance to see anything at all. What can I say, life's a bitch. Which means I have to rely on sumoforum to give me the news. So thanks, guys. *hopes Hakuho gets to dine on fish after the basho is over*
Shimpu Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 BTW I expect a yaocha thread on sumotalk.com (In a state of confusion...)
Naganoyama Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Well, he's not home and dry yet, but at least he's on the right bus and carrying his towel.
maxim Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Very good video, Ilovesumo. It's clear that today Asashory's right arm was almost useless. You can also spot this in the match with Aminishiki.
Sasanishiki Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 If Hakuho beats Kotomitsuki today then we absolutely have a new yokozuna! Hakuho would have achieved 13 wins, which seemed to be the standard talked about before the basho. He also would have taken the yusho battle to the last day, and he would be guaranteed of having "an equivalent record", even if he ultimately did not win the basho in a kettei-sen (or even a tomoe-sen). Arise, Sir Hakuho!!
Fukurou Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hmm... "in the yusho race day 15" by definition... jun-y, at least... Shouldn't even three losses do it... or? With recent events, do you honestly think they'd dare promote him with less than a yusho-yusho record? (which some people are still going to look sideways at)
maxim Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 If Hakuho beats Kotomitsuki today then we absolutely have a new yokozuna! Done.
aderechelsea Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 13-0 and counting. they better start making that new tsuna.
maxim Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 (edited) Dear lord, now it's super-official! Asashory recorded his third loss, Chiyotaikai lost against Kotooshu and Hakuho will take the yusho as well! (unless someone thinks Asasekiryu and Dejima can do something about it) Edited May 25, 2007 by maxim
Kaioshoryu Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 13-0 and only Dejima and Asasekiryu at two losses behind, he will be promoted the right way: back to back yusho!
