Tikozan Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 (Applauding...) Kotooshu, what's up? Today a great henka against Kisenosato. THATS NOT OZEKI LIKE! Ii's not the first of him. Osh does it again and again. WHY? He can do it better. But this what he does in the last time is not that, what we want to see (Applauding...)
Kaikitsune Makoto Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Henka was quite a letdown. Some great sumo today and then this stupid bout where tachi-ai was not syncronized and Osh did the easiest looking henka ever. Kisenosato fell for that easily too. What a major anticlimax. It is all about winning desu neee...sure but what a major anticlimax indeed. Oh well Osh is Osh.

Kaikitsune Makoto Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Thank you for your attention and indication of pleasure. You lack perspective and understanding of fundamental depth of emotions and motions condensed in a moment.
maxim Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 (edited) Henka causes more henka. Kotooshu has fallen victim to some super-henkas in the past, more notably by Tochiazuma and Ama, maybe he thinks only suckers don't pull henka once in awhile. It is a little disappointing, but maybe his good record will motivate him. Edited May 19, 2007 by maxim
Tikozan Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 ... but maybe his good record will motivate him. I hope he will find back to his old fighting spirit and show us, that he can be a good ozeki.

I'm a fan of Kotooshu, but I have to admit I've never seen that much of a fighting spirit from him. He obviously has some psychological problems and looks nervous even when he tries not to look nervous. I hope that's just youth.
Doitsuyama Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Not to mention that he used to be the one to complain the loudest if someone dares to henka HIM... well, at least as long as he was talking at all after losses.
Kintamayama Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 You lack perspective and understanding of fundamental depth of emotions and motions condensed in a moment. Why would you say that? I cry in movies!
Shomishuu Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Somebody tell Osh it's hinkaku, not henkaku. Oh that's good, Asasho-san! :-P. Here's a quickie lookback at Day 5 Rikishi Talk: Kotooshu (4-1) over Kakizoe by yorikiri, 3.8 seconds ------------------------------------------------------------ (Trying unsuccessfully to get the left uwate using henka but got the right uwate instead) "It was NOT a henka. I was moving with a flow. I did not rush myself. Once I got the mawashi, I just pushed forward." Could the Osh-man have been playing a mind game by making his next few opponents think he'd NEVER do a henka again so soon after a statement like that? Well, maybe I'm playing my own mind games...
Kintamayama Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 The instant Kotooushuu pulled off the henka, the fans were booing him loudly. Sadogatake Oyakata who was standing in the hanamichi was seen grimacing. "I wasn't planning to henka. I surprised myself.. I really wanted to go all out..", said Osh. "I was pretty nervous. My opponent read me well", said Kisenosato. "A win is a win, but the fans were expecting an epic battle", said a disappointed head judge Mihogaseki Oyakata. "I myself think this sucks. I feel as if I lost", Osh summed up .
yamaneko Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 hypocrite. as mentioned, osh makes it seem like its the end of the world when someone tries to henka him.
Tikozan Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 Today in his bout against Tokitenku, that was the Kotooshu we like: Concentrated at tachi-ai, grip on the mawashi of his opponent and a nice final. So we want so him. That was great. (Sign of approval...)
Gusoyama Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 horrible henka, but to his defense, Kisenosato tends to come in rather horizontally.
