abudisake Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 (edited) Hi all, first, sorry for my poor english !!! Fuseigou and I have tried a new game during the Haru Basho. It has worked well and we want to open it to all. FAWL Fus&Abu Winner/Loser is based on the knowledge of the torikumi and on sekitori's shape during the basho. This is a pre basho game in which you have to find winners and losers. We have separated the banzuke in three groups : - the high group with the 14 first of the banzuke (from Asashoryu to Tamanoshima) - the middle group with the 14 next (from Kakizoe to Miyabiyama) - the low group with the 14 others (from Dejima to Kasuganishiki) We have also 5 periods : - day 1 to 3 - day 4 to 6 - day 7 to 9 - day 10 to 12 - day 13 to 15 for each period you have to find one winner and one loser per group you have to present your (forecast ?) with the model below. (The winner in first) (only once as a winner and only once as a loser) Days 1 to 3 : Winner high group & Loser high group / Winner middle group & Loser middle group / Winner low group & Loser low group Days 4 to 6 : Winner high group & Loser high group / Winner middle group & Loser middle group / Winner low group & Loser low group Days 7 to 9 : Winner high group & Loser high group / Winner middle group & Loser middle group / Winner low group & Loser low group Days 10 Edited May 10, 2007 by abudisake
Kintamayama Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Interesting concept-I'm in already-this should become quite popular.
Kintamayama Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Just for clarification, as I didn't get this part-you can only choose a rikishi ONCE as a winner and ONCE as a loser. I missed that part and had to redo my entry..

abudisake Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 if a rikishi is officialy kyujo before yokozuna's doyo iri, he can't be in your forecast..... tochiazuma for example & maybe toyonoshima..... don't forget to edit your post in case...... the link : http://www.info-sumo.net/info/modules.php?...opic&t=3129

XiaoTan Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Hi Abudisake, My French is not good enough to post anything in French writing - just enough to read and guess the meaning of the French posts. Wanted to say thanks for this game - I think this is quite interesting as you not only have to judge realtive strength of the rikishis but also their form curve. ;-) Neko

Kintamayama Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 If you can get this game automated (there are a few here and on the French side who can easily do this, cough..cough..) you have a real hit on your hands. Hundreds will play. I enjoyed entering and am enjoying checking the results even more.. Salute!!
abudisake Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 crazy day in all the sumo games, fawl is like the others : perfect for kintamayama, marimo, neko, kotononami, wolfgangho, tamanaogijima and still the leader zenjimoto. the ranking at the end of the second period : 1 - zenjimoto 3 - 3 - 32 - 12/3 2 - kotononami 3 - 3 - 31 - 11/4 3 - neko 3 - 3 - 31 - 11/4 4 - kitano 2 - 3 - 30 - 10/5 5 - kintamayama 3 - 3 - 29 - 10/5 6 - le f
Fuseigou Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 If you can get this game automated (there are a few here and on the French side who can easily do this, cough..cough..) you have a real hit on your hands. Hundreds will play. I enjoyed entering and am enjoying checking the results even more..Salute!! Hi Kintamayama ! Abudisake and I are really glad to hear you're enjoying FAWL, as much as we both do... Thanks to be so confident with this game, but now we are just 23 or 24 players... and not hundreds as you predict, even if the participant level is high this Natsu basho (it's quite tough to make difference with other players). The game is well automated today, with an excel file that makes easier the daily follow-up for us. It should be sufficient to develop FAWL... For sure, it would be more interesting to create a user interface on net, where everyone could post their predictions and could follow results, with an automated base associated with. But, Abudisake and I are really not competents to do that. The most we could do would be thinking about the user interface organisation, but no more... We are thinking about it, but that'll be sure we need help... Let's pass by this basho, but if you have any ideas, don't hesitate to tell us... Salut !!

When I say automated, I mean an automated user-interface. I tend not to participate in games that make me do too much. I'm lazy. I'm pretty sure if you get a site with good interface, you'll have people OUTSIDE of this forum playing as well. I still say you have the potential for over a hundred players with this. You don't have to be competent to do this. You need competent friends. I am totally incompetent, yet I run three different games, all automated, thanks to good friends who helped out. As an example, before GTB was automated, we were around the 50/60 player mark. After, we are at the 105 player mark. It's not so hard. Come on-you have two months to prepare for Nagoya!!
