Kotoseiya Yuichi Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 My signature refers to Argentinians who see Finland that way after a Finnish company began to build a paper factory in Uruguay. That's kind of humourous to them, I suppose. Bringing yaocho up even in humourous context (whether it's recognizable or not as humour) diminishes sumo as a sport. Why wallow in that nonsense? If there's proof to be found, it will be presented (or not) and actions against it will be taken (or not). I certainly don't support keeping silence over things that should be brought into daylight. However, if there's (time after time) nothing of substance to drag from the shadows, why pretend there is? Even if claiming it's humour. It's not, it's slander or libel or whatever the correct legal term is. (I don't know, I never learned legal English as it's not the language of judiciary in the Continental Europe.) Pop psychology is popular as always. (Chucking salt...) I have a static IP. Getting me removed for good from this forum is technically very simple. Come to think of it, why don't you create a poll about it? Rally a campaign against me! Get me banned for life!!! Find finally peace for your troubled soul...
Kotoseiya Yuichi Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 (edited) Actually it's neither of them. It's not even close. This is a point I've seen you try to make several times. You are wrong though. So feel free to enlighten us. What is it? And if it's such a triviality why NSK themselves are ready to go to court over it? You think I really care that much whether you stay or go? You seem to be quite agitated about my presence. It's really getting to be like a child throwing the toys out of the pram constantly at this stage. Ah, more pop psychology. Ever tried that on, say, Asashoryu? Always a nice way out when you've run out of anything worthwhile saying. Oh btw by your logic, Bringing "ugly women" up even in humourous context (whether it's recognizable or not as humour) diminishes women as human beings. Tell that to Argentinians. Being ugly is not a crime. Being called ugly by clueless Argentinian idiots even less. To indulge in rigging matches probably is. In Finland it is (this I know), in most countries it most likely is. If it isn't in Japan, it should. In all cases accusing people of crimes (or otherwise objectionable enough deeds) they didn't commit, is a crime. Why else would NSK act the way they do? Yes, they chose the civil procedure (if I recall correctly), but they undoubtedly had some reason (higher threshold of evidence?) for that and could have gone the way of criminal charges. By parrotting Shukan Gendai bullshit, even if as a lousy joke, you're playing to their pockets. I don't know about you, but I'm thoroughly tired at explaining yaocho claims to my workmates and relatives I've introduced to sumo. I'd rather talk about something far more constructive. No true fan of ozumo speaks about yaocho lightly. Feel free to disagree. You've never been too hot on logic anyway. Edited March 28, 2007 by Kotoseiya Yuichi
kaiguma Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 It is equally as likely / likely / quite likely / should not be quickly dismissed without further thought? So we are probably on two different sides of the same page. You lean more toward sthe rational explanation while I lean toward mystery. When I have my own premonitions, then we can argue! ;-)

Jonosuke Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 (edited) I myself am static when IP. I thought you were going to say "I myself am static when I p**". Edit: Actually that's what you meant!!! Thougn not speaking as a mod, I am beginning to believe this thread has run its course and more or less two people bar talk so either someone takes it back to the original course or else....strawberry jam with a toast. Kotoseiya Yuichi Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Then why don't you instead of constantly coming out with the most ridiculous overreactions to perceived slights? Because they keep coming back asking about this and only this. It was hard enough to convince them to believe in sumo as a proper sport in the first place. Someone heard rumours about yaocho a long time ago and I had to convince them again that ozumo's not a WWF for fatsos in nappies. It's tiresome to refute all these claims time and again. Now that few of them do follow ozumo, even if somewhat irregularly, the vicious circle begins all over again every time the very subject is kept in limelight. Whatever. We agree to disagree. I could appreciate people refrain from diagnosing me half a world away, though, and those inebriated emails (amusing in their own morbid way as they are) I could pass also. That last part had nothing to do with Nishinoshima.
