nirumaruyama Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I'm so pleased that these games are up and running too (especially as I had managed a KK in their previous incarnation's last basho). However, I'm performing really really badly in everything. Feck!
Golynohana Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 SO and SQ results for day 7 will be a little bit later today
Sakana Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 No problemo ! ;-) We're thankful for running these games. (Shaking head...)
Vikanohara Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 That Norizo-guy is simply amazing in Sekitori-games ! 8-0 in S4 & 8-0 in Seki-Toto Tons of (Dribbling...) :-)
Randomitsuki Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 That Norizo-guy is simply amazing in Sekitori-games !8-0 in S4 & 8-0 in Seki-Toto Tons of (Dribbling...) :-) You should have seen him about two years ago when he actually pulled it off to win 15-0 in S4. In my opinion this is the best sumo gaming performance ever, and I highly doubt that anybody will ever repeat that. Well, maybe Norizo himself...
Asashosakari Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 You should have seen him about two years ago when he actually pulled it off to win 15-0 in S4. Shhh. :-) At least you didn't say "the word"...
Zenjimoto Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 You should have seen him about two years ago when he actually pulled it off to win 15-0 in S4. Shhh. :-S At least you didn't say "the word"... Don't worry... IIRC, people dropped the "Z" word on him even last time, well before senshuraku... and he still made it! (Neener, neener...) Good luck!! (Pulling hair...) Cheers, Z.
Fujisan Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I think I have lost the plot completely in the sekitori games,at 3-6 in Toto I am well on the way to my 3rd consecutive MK and I have no idea where I'm going wrong,at first I thought it was bad luck but three basho in a row isn't bad luck its bad picks. 3-6 in Quad with all my best picks gone is not a great return either.
Kintamayama Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) Someone better kick the result grabber in S4. The site is Ok, but the results have not been grabbed and neither has the torikumi. Edited March 20, 2007 by Kintamayama
Golynohana Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 sorry for the delay. the grabber works fine, but needs to be fired by me ;-) I didn't have time to do it earlier.
Asashosakari Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 For kicks, here are the daily winning percentages so far: Day 1: 8.4% Day 2: 24.4% Day 3: 33.8% Day 4: 24.4% Day 5: 42.2% Day 6: 76.5% Day 7: 77.6% Day 8: 78.3% Day 9: 29.8% Day 10: 72.0% Day 1 was the second-lowest scoring day ever. Pretty extreme results altogether, with already three days below 25% and three above 75%. The average scoring so far is 46.8%, a bit on the low side.
Vikanohara Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) Wow, I got a 4/4 on Day 1 :-P (Which I could repeat on Day 7) ! I even got Hokutoiwa in the lineup on the opening day. (Neener, neener...) Edited March 21, 2007 by Vikanohara
Asashosakari Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) And the rollercoaster continues...16.1% on Day 11, 7th-worst result all-time. Norizo still leads by two, but won't be getting zensho this time. Edited March 21, 2007 by Asashosakari

Gernobono Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 What is the tiebreaker in Sekitori-Q?We have two players on the first place with 12 wins. Norizo and Gernobono. The order on the site is alfabetical. The rules say that both cyberrikishi form a team with the bestscoring 4 rikishi they did not pick and the wins are counted to decide a winner.... i made a calculation by hand and for me norizo has Tokitsuumi 8 Shunketsu 8 Shirononami 8 Takamisakari 7 ------------------- result 31 gernobono has tochiozan 11 toyonoshima 8 koryu 8 shunketsu 8 ----------------------- result 35 which would make gernobono the winner, but as i made this on two pieces of paper printed from today's scores on the nsk-site, i might be wrong the tiebreakerrules say: Tie-breakers: Should there be a tie for the yusho, the tie-breaker teams of each player swing into action. Each player's tie-breaker team will be the 4 sekitori with the MOST TOTAL WINS that have NOT been picked by that player on any day during the basho. This tie-breaker team may include sekitori who actually went kyujo during the tourney, but still managed to score one or more wins. Should there be a basho with too many withdrawals to allow a full 4-sekitori tie-breaker team, then what ever is left over will be used. Should there still be a tie, the player with the higher ranked rikishi (cumulative) on their tie-breaker team will win (i.e. the player who left more top-rankers unpicked). If there STILL is a tie, then other scores accumulated during the basho will determine a winner, in the following order: total win points, Kanto-sho score, Shukun-sho score. If that all still doesn't work, the nod will go to the player ranked higher on the S4-Banzuke. Tie-breaker scores are shown on the RESULTS page, together with all other scoring, and may change daily depending on which rikishi are selected. taken from: http://www.anasuya.com/4/rules.html

Asashosakari Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 The banzuke scores are provisional. Because some players from results page (especially those with very small scores) may get kosho for this basho and will be removed from results page. If this happens, the KK line may change. I just wanted to affirm this. I've decided to go with this strategy for dealing with the absences, which means the new Oracle banzuke will be done during the first week of Natsu basho (and the S4 banzuke likely right after the end of Natsu). At any rate, I'm going to exclude those 7 players from the scoring who didn't finish their ballot (irrespective of whether they show up in May, so they might still get a 0-0-15 for Haru). I'll post the "official" W-L records in a bit.
nirumaruyama Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I've enjoyed playing these games again. Back to the usual in S4 with a makekoshi but hopefully the KK line Seki-O won't change by much as my 9-6 record will mean that I have had 10 kachi koshi in a row in this game dating back to Natsu 2005 (and i'm still only barely in Juryo!). Thanks guys
Golynohana Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Golynohana, will your automation for both games still work if there isn't a new banzuke before the next basho starts? Everything should work fine. Only page with divisional scores for S-O (which is not online yet, but i am currently working on it) will not work correctly without S-O banzuke. (sorry for late response)
Asashosakari Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 First off, many thanks again to Golynohana for getting these two games back on the scene. :-) (Dripping sweat...) ;-) Second off, congrats to Norizo for what was quite possibly the most dominant Seki-Games performance ever, with jun-yusho in Oracle and Quad, and yusho in Toto. (On the banzuke...) Third off, congrats to Ozeki Flohru for winning his fourth Oracle yusho, and second within the last three basho that the game was active. Unfortunately, his line for those three basho reads 12-3Y, 7-8, 11-4Y and while I can't say for sure, I suspect the Oracle Kyokai will not look kindly on that middle make-koshi as far as a bid for the big white rope is concerned.
