Mitoizumi/Nishikido Oyakata looked like half dead today... For Musoyama/Fujishima Oyakata it was like this on day 2. No wonder, it is pretty cold in the morning in the Kokugikan, and you know the traditional Shinpan dress...not too warm. Tochinoshin Shimoda versus Takanoyama This is Hoshikaze, young Mongolian from Oguruma Beya (video day 2 ) - he is a little showman and you just enjoy watching him :-) (Had no more space to record him today also...saaaaaad. I need some more memory sticks...) Just before he re-injured his bad knee... (Shaking head...) DAY 2 STUFF (sorry for the delay) Day 2 was just crazy. First a gyoji was saying NISHI instead of HIGASHI - so the whole Shinpan group shouted out HIGASHIII :-) Then there was a bout, must have been Jonidan... It was close and one Shinpan raised his hand to signalize he want's a monoii. So they discussed. Then the shinpanspeaker was just telling what they decided NISHI - and again the other Shinpan raised his hand "What are you saying?!?!?! HIGASHI!!!" So they climbed up the Dohyo again for a second mono ii - on the same bout. It was a very long mono ii, about 2 minutes and they just looked confused as if they just forgot what happened in the bout...finally decided. -and set down. I was near the Dohyo and couldn't stop grining about the whole thing, Kasugano Oyakata was grining too and shouted at the other one (in fun mood) - something like "That was all your fault!" (Laughing...) I couldn't stop laughing... :-D Finally, the stadiumspeaker did the same thing- "NISHI+Shikona NISHI+ Shikona" :-) East and West...difficult. I was searching for my seat and finally realized that the ticket I got as present from a japanese professor was for the second floor... (Shaking head...) ...after searching for the not existing box number down in the 3. box row for a few minutes... (Blushing...) (Whistling...) Difference being that Asashoryu had both knees receiving the charge and recognized the critical moment to spring up and leap back, rather than being crumpled as Baruto was, what 3 or 4 times now? Verena, NHK's Deji-Shoryu bout only seems like better camera position because they had the original bout + 4 replays! So unless there are 20 Verenas, you can't get better position than they have :-D If you have room on your memory stick / youtube files, I actually prefer to have the sound, even a woohoo here and there is great! I quite enjoyed the Shimoda and Hoshikaze bouts form day 2. Good to see Shimoda improving and with excellent stamina gainst a larger foe. Hilarious to see the gyoji stop the match to retie Hoshikaze's mawashi (Shaking head...)(Laughing...)(Shaking head...) But a good thing he did or the result would have been (Whistling...)
