well I for one am pretty darn happy that my man Katayama slid back into the top division. He has miles to go on his sumo heart but he has the best Shiko in the top two divisions right now. (and he went to the high school I taught at in Japan.

2 shizuoka fighters in the top this time. heres to hoping one of them can get it together enough to stay for the next basho.

Hakurozan-M14-Tamakasuga

Backwards, it seems-according to the original banzuke Nishi posted, Hakurozan is West.

So it's-

Tamakasuga M14 Hakurozan.

GTB will be corrected accordingly.

Aminishiki first time sanyaku, sixth slowest in Sumo history 938 bashos). His brother Asoofuji made it to Makuuchi for the first time, 30 years and 9 months old, ninth slowest., and no less than 7 MK rikishi that didn't lose a rank. 7 promotions to Makuuchi.

938 bashos? I had no idea Aminishiki has been doing sumo for so many centuries...

It was a mistake. It should read 1938 bashos.

wow, now he's out to 323 years plus of fighting! what a machine.
