Blue_Wolf Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Hakuho vs Miyabiyama was very entertaining! Yeah, and yesterday it was Tamanoshima vs Kotomitsuki and Kokkai vs Kotooshu. Nice bouts.
Fujisan Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Its easy to pick the top bouts but I loved Shimotori vs Ryuho Shimotori knocked Ryuho so far off the dohyo he needed a bus to bring him back.
Ryukaze Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Gotta be Asashoryu vs Roho good bout.....(I am very surprised yet pleased by Roho's seemingly different style of sumo this basho) He's really digging in and going for his opponents mawashi as opposed to his usual tendancy to "grapple" and try to pull down his opponents, hence his amazing results and at maegashira #1!
Guest Ganryu Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I was most impressed by Ama dealing with Baruto constructively and with zero cheapness. That was maybe a slightly less tense moment than Asa/Roho, but objectively I'd say it was my favorite bout today. Ama got (Heart) !

Ama got (Heart) !yeap, it's hard to imagine such a small frame (compare to) can absorb 380 pound of mussle & neutralize it. He reminds me of Wakanohana, although I'd seen glimpse of his bouts. Here's a quote from Wakanohana "I was scared to death whenever I faced Akebono or Musashimaru... I was worried that my ribs might break and pierce my heart". I wonder what he thinks when he faces Baruto, Miyabiyama or Kotooshu.
