Agree. I don’t see anybody rising to the very top any time soon. To ozeki level, I can see 2/3 rikishi being promoted in the next 1-2 years. In the ozeki camp, there is no one I would put my money on. I can only hope I will be proven wrong.

I think the YDC has done the smart thing here. If Teru was to continue fighting under his current condition, his injuries could have gotten even worse. This could have made him retire sooner than they would have expected and, with the current level in the ozeki ranks, we would be looking at a long spell without a Yokozuna, something they can hardly afford.
