I am a bit late to defend this take (although they did agree with my thesis about keeping Takayasu at Komusubi), but my argument was that if they wanted Aonishiki to move into Sanyaku to open July they might not have placed him against Sadanoumi on day 15.

so am I crazy for thinking Takayasu will get to stick around? I looked at the matchups for Aonishiki (and Onokatsu, and Kinbozan) to close out the tournament and felt like none of them had been taken too seriously, but there might not be any precedent backing this opinion.

I'm excited for Otsuji. Has it really been so long since he was 4-3? Used to be his calling card.

Something about the banzuke algorithm just doesn't sit quite right with me.
