Let's say you only have enough money for one day, would you recommend going on Saturday or Sunday? Does it make much difference? Thank you

Awkward to say the least yes, I was flabbergasted at the absence of mono-ii.
-
Call me crazy but I see flashes of Aonishiki in Shishi's newly found surefootedness.

Hokuseiho Out- Hakuho Demoted - Miyagino-beya Closing
Miyam replied to Kaninoyama's topic in Ozumo Discussions
Hakuho signed this pledge thing. And he obviously broke all or part of it. If the JSA wanted Hakuho out of sumo, wouldn't he be out of sumo by now? I was half-expecting for them to call for his resignations papers when they asked for Hokuseiho's. -
Witnessing Hakuoho struggling at the bottom of Juryo is killing me.
-
I noticed him as well during the broadcast what was that about? He seemed quite mad at his opponent for some reason, he kept staring at him even after they stepped off the dohyo.

Hokuseiho Out- Hakuho Demoted - Miyagino-beya Closing
Miyam replied to Kaninoyama's topic in Ozumo Discussions
Pardon me, but dead is dead. Am not minimizing what Hakuho did, prolonged bullying can lead to suicide and turning a blind eye to it is egregious to say the least. But beating your deshi to death and turning a blind eye to bullying is not in the same ballpark, far from it. -
Thanks a lot. It seems relevant so I'll share this Arte documentary titled "Japan: Women in Sumo" https://www.arte.tv/en/videos/107510-000-A/arte-reportage/

Banzuke where you can see win-loss records between rikishi
Miyam replied to Chiyotasuke's topic in Sumo Games
Daiamami is 2-0 vs Terunofuji, what a lad. -
I've been watching this channel for a while, love it. One thing rubs me the wrong way though, is how Koga is being treated, he gets made fun of regularly by his peers and even by his oyakata on video. I can only wonder what happens away from the camera.
-
I think he's still nursing the knee, and good for him, no need to overexert and aggravate it.

What is up with Shonannoumi? Is there an injury I don't know about?
-
I have a vivid memory of him doing that to Enho once, blatant dame oshi, totally wrecked the little guy. Hated Hakuyozan ever since.
-
Can you expand on what you mean? As a former sportsman myself, I'm always taken aback at how few days off from rigorous physical training they seem to take, how is their bodies supposed to not eventually crumble under such constant strain?
-
Also Hiradoumi.

Just tried a couple dozen of those links, they all say "Private video". I'm guessing these are linking to the original Kintamayama channel?
-
I had no idea Aoiyama could move that well back in the time! Is there some way to watch older basho somewhere? (Sorry if this is not the appropriate place to be asking that, I don't know my way very well yet.)
-
There is no rule for it indeed, it's just something that will happen occasionally at the initiative of the yokozuna or the ozeki. That is a fair point.
-
Other side of the coin would be, why did Gonoyama stubbornly refuse to put both fists down first? He eventually did it so he understood the message at some point. Again, Hoshoryu might have gone a bit overboard with it, but I don't see anything inherently wrong with an ozeki demanding respect from a young upstart.
-
Hoshoryu was demanding respect from an up-and-coming rikishi, he might have gone a tad overboard with it but I don't find his attitude particularly distasteful. Been watching sumo for a while now, and you'll occasionally see an ozeki or a yokozuna demanding respect from their opponent by refusing to initiate the tachiai until their opponent put both fists on the ground first. Again, might have been a tad overboard with the look after the match, but I totally understand and appreciate an ozeki demanding respect from a young up-and-comer maegashira.

Where would you put Hokuseiho on the Atamifuji-Hakuoho scale?

Mr JWags's channel should be listed as well ! https://www.youtube.com/@TheDohyo
