I know most of the money from ticket sales and TV rights goes directly to the NSK, so where do the Oyakata get the money to run the stables? It must be quite expensive - rents in Tokyo are high, and sumo wrestlers are famous for eating a lot. Does each stable get an allowance paid from the NSK? If so, what's it based on - is there a set amount for each Rikishi, Gyoji, Yobidashi and Tokoyama associated with the stable? Are these figures recorded anywhere?
