The first time I saw Sumo was Day 12 September 2016 when I took a group of students as a part of a school trip from Australia. The whole group became Goeido fans and I have been a massive fan of his ever since. I also started me on my way to being a Sumo tragic. Please excuse my ignorance but how does it work now? I am unsure when people talk of him buying or borrowing a Kabu???

It might come from in Western sports - Football players are referred to as footballers - baseball players are referred to as baseballers - people who box are referred to as boxers etc. therefore Sumo wrestlers get shortened to Sumo's along similar lines

Could this be Goeido's time to shine again exactly 12 months on from very similar circumstances.

New to Sumo. I was at day 11 in September 2016 and became a Sumo fan and also a Goeido fan as he went 15-0. Since then following him is turning into a rollercoaster I thought he was unlucky on day 2 and out wrestled day 3. Is there any information on whether he is still struggling from ankle injury which forced him out of last tournament?

When will they announce if he gets promoted? I am new to Sumo and currently in Japan so was watching on tv from Osaka but not understanding a word. I did manage to get to days 6&9 when I was in Tokyo so I saw Kisenosato win and lose.

I have tickets for Day 5, I am only in Tokyo until 18th Jan, how hard is it to get tickets in the morning and what time do you have to arrive, I would really like to go to more than 1 day. My daughter and I arrive on the 11th from Australia and Day 5 is the earliest I can get there.
