Woah... I'm a hater of Hakuho at times. But the man commands awe and respect. I am jealous of his fans.

Before day 13, Kisenosato's bout against Hakuho made me so anxious I was dreaming of sumo. Possibly one of the best dreams of my life. Kisenosato did lose against Hakuho. Kakuryu has an important role to play. I forgot. All of them looked extremely tired.But the scenario seemed more of a keiko than a basho. And at one point I was a gyoji with a camera, recording the match. Ha My feet are still tingling when I recall it. It would be amazing if Kise won. Exams here I come. Bye bye sumo.

He does need to lose a few pounds. I think he will be either a good ozeki or lousey Yokozuna. He's just finding his style. The guy was sekiwake the same year he began sumo. This is barely his third year in sumo. Just seems like half his battles are outside the ring.

And aside from his performance, Kisenosato seems to be the only guy who has not had any major injuries. He probably just passed a career's worth of injuries to Terunofuji. The only thing that comes to mind was that toe fracture a few years back. But all three Yokozunas and the other two ozeki have had injuries that had them pull out or underperform(Goeido 4-11 in January) If you had to choose between a yusho or an injury free career at ozeki. Which would you pick?

Hakuhō is not going to lose to a henka. Kisenosato only henkad once in his whole career as far as I know, it was pretty recent though (like, last tournament). And even then, it didn't seem premeditated. And I feel sorry for whoever henkas Hakuho...and fails. Yikes

Terunofuji Makekoshi it seems... No way is he going 8-7 this basho

You want to know where else you could fit that script? well, aloha skinny yes, i'd love to hear your imaginative ideas for script fitting even better, can you contribute something regarding yaocho? is goeido still a contender for this yusho, for example? does he hold ozeki by virtue of skill and fighting spirit, or has he been getting by on heavy gifting? Aloha wuli, Are you pacific islander? Sorry about the comment earlier. Script fitting ideas? With yours I'd say in Mike's sumo reports... Not a fan of Goeido. But Goeido looks on fire last basho and this basho. He can be a contender. Wikipedia says he has 11 special prizes and 4 championship titles in lower divisions, under his belt. So why not. Does he get gifts? I'll say no. Not after a 4-11 on Jan. But Yoacho is anybody's guess. Until it comes to light AGAIN, the athletes(humans btw!!!) deserve the benefit of the doubt. Go Goeido Go.

Huh... Guess one learns something new everyday. Then this Japanese behavior is really rubbing off on Hakuho these past few months...

Rooting for Terunofuji, Shodai, and Kakuryu. Hakuho yusho. Kisenosato will try his best. Kotoshogiku 9-6. Ichinojo will injure someone. Aioyama will become a bowling ball, as usual. Yokozuna henka will be witnessed. Ura yusho in juryo. I will go over to sumotalk around day 12 and troll them as much as possible... And I predict that someone will die...

Let me guess... Did the "HuH" also get in a drunk bar fight and thus faces suspension for punching a guy in the face? No? Then wth..

I had a good laugh when Kaisei's was cupping his left boob in pain.😂 Terunofuji seems to still be in bad condition. With him, Ama,and Hakuho in bad shape, now would be a great time for another Japan yusho. "I'm NOT looking at Kisenosato!"

Thanks. Terunofuji and Steph Curry are just getting the worst of luck this year. Both have made great advances in their sports but are being kept back by their injuries. At least with Curry he's already down in the books, but with Teru there are alot more yusho to be won and a rank to achieve...

Does anyone have any info on Terunofuji? I'm really looking forward for a healthy appearance next basho with this guy. Hopefully he can stir things up a bit.

... or, if he watches sumo carefully You'd think that if 'watching sumo carefully' gave someone the ability to detect each and every fixed bout and determine the politics behind them then that person might also have noticed that a whole bunch of rikishi were operating a for-profit organized yaocho ring, but funnily enough I don't recall Mike ever mentioning that one until after it was publicly exposed. That is exactly the problem with Mike. If watching sumo makes you an expert than everyone would be one. But it takes more than watching bout to bout video to even tell what a rhikishi is thinking much less what he has premeditated. And what doesn't make any sense is why he idolizes the Mongolian's. Not that I have anything against them. I'm speaking based on Mikes perspective. He seems to believe that Hakuho is the greatest of all and the Ozekis are frauds. Yet he claims Hakuho let's others win from time to time. If that's the case how is he sure that Hakuho earned his 32 yushos. I mean Hakuho himself was punished for gambling. Again I am coming at this from what is supposedly mikes POV. I believe the Mongolians and Ozekis all earned their ranks...with a few leniency here and there ;). What was that saying, never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell you two apart? But I'd play a fool just to diss Mike any day :)

This is a forum focusing on a type of wrestling, sumo. But can I say that Ichinojo, however soft he may be on the dohyo, is a real gentleman. He is really good with kids. You can tell the little guy feels calm around him. BTW he looks like a toddler carrying a favorite toy.

Asashoryu vs Hakuho reenactment?

How about: Chances of Kisenosato winning a yusho? Probably zilch... :( But 13-2 is not too shabby... Hopefully he is a late bloomer...Chiyonofuji-style.

Terunofuji hopefully will heal soon so that he can give Hakuho some trouble...But 36th yusho for that Goat...not one of his best concerning the dignity aspect, but definetly a memorable basho... Congrats Hakuho. I hope you are now satisfied...equaling your father. Now no more Asashoryu, please!!! :)

The sound of Kotoyuki's bark sums up my excitement for this basho! HHUUUUU!
