Greetings, everyone! I am honored to have won the Yusho! And I am grateful to be in such great company as you all. Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on. You have made my time on the dohyo a memorable experience. I will strive with all my might to achieve the rank of Yokozuna. I will do anything to make that happen. Legally, of course! And I will ask for the blessings of the sumo gods upon me to achieve my goals. And of course, I will also ask for blessings for those beneath me. My wish is that those who are striving to become Ozeki achieve their goals as well (as long as they do not come at my expense!). Congratulations to all those who achieved their kachi-koshi, and better luck next time to those losers who ended up make-koshi. Oh sorry! I for one, who was kadoban at one time, should NOT be tempting fate. There but for fortune go I. This has been a terrific Basho! See you all at Hatsu!!!! Ganbatte! ________________________________ A special thank-you to Jejima and Athenayama for keeping Sekitori Sweepstake going! We are all grateful to you both!

Ooooooooo I’m later than usual! Please count me in, as well as my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief. Thanks!

I’m sorry to hear that Endo is out. I wonder if he will retire now and just not come back at all. I’m happy to have Shirokuma as my new draw. I‘ve had him before and he did very well. IIRC, his name means “White Bear”, “Polar Bear” or something like that because he’s very pale.

I’m really excited to get Endo again!! I think I drew him when he ended up with a 12-3. Much better than I expected. I’ll be rooting for him all over again. Hope he doesn’t decide to retire in the middle of the Basho!

Please sign me up along with my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief. Thanks!

Congratulations, Joaoiyama/Kotoshoho, for winning the Nagoya Emperor’s Cup. You were both outstanding! I, too, thought I was cooked when I drew Hatsuyama (J13E). This was only his 4th basho as a Sekitori, and he was still stuck at J13. Didn’t look promising. I was not looking forward to being Kadoban again. I had already been there once. BUT — He ended up with a 10-5, his best performance in Juryo. I am very proud of him. This is what I love about Sekitori Sweepstake. I had never heard of Hatsuyama before I drew him. Now that I’ve gotten to know him a little, we have a bond. From now on, I’ll be rooting for him. Arigato gozaimashushita, Jejima and Athenayama.

Thank you, Kaminariyuki, for signing me up. I would in turn like to sign up my friend Chanko Thief. Thanks!

I guess he’s just reverting to form. I was never a big fan of his either. But I got lucky. I drew him for the Nov 2024 basho and I was dumbfounded when he finished with an 10-5. I was hoping he would do that for you, too!

I’m in, of course! Now that I’m kadoban, I must get my 8 wins in May! Please sign up my friends Chanko Thief and Kaminariyuki as well. Thanks!

OMG, I’m DOOMED! Rather than wear the rope, I fear it will be transformed into a noose!

Hellooooooo everyone! I am in as well as my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief! Thanks to Kinbozan, I am a Tsunatori this basho. I have been so lucky in this game. Prior to Kinbozan, I drew Chiyoshoma of whom I didn’t expect much, but he did amazingly well. And Kinbozan was on fire. So happy for them. Good luck to everyone for the March basho. May you all get good draws!

Hmmmmm. Why did Karasukurai end his association with Hokutofuji?

Thank you for the unexpected promotion to Ozeki. I will aim to rise above the clouds. I will endeavor to beat the crap out of my opponents, always with honor. I will try not to bring disgrace to the title of Ozeki, whether that be the torturing of the juniors, hitting or hitting on the Okamisan, or my favorite, patronizing dens of iniquity. And lastly, I aim to avoid making a career out of being kadoban, unlike certain other Ozeki who shall remain nameless. I’m going to cut my promotion acceptance speech short because having to hunker down on this hard floor in this ridiculous position is about to kill me! Arigato gozaimashita! Banzai!!

I want to play again. In addition, my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief want to play, too.

My goodness, I didn’t know Ozumo was still accepting 15-year-olds.
-
Thank you! I must have been thinking of the guitar player, Steve Vai.
-
In please, and while you’re at it, please sign up my friends, Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief. Thank you!
-
I could be wrong but if I recall correctly, that fish is known as “Vai” which also means “victory” in Japanese.
-
Yes! I am in!! I am thrilled to be in Sanyaku for the Aki basho. Hope my luck continues and I haven’t jinxed myself. I’d also like to sign up my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief again.

I am so excited to win my first Yusho!!! Big thanks to my partner Shirokuma, my favorite “Polar Bear”, without whom I could not have done it! Big thanks also to Nichinoseki Oyakata (ex-Kisenosato) for raising us to be champions! Special thanks to @Athenayama for the day-to-day operation of this game and to @Jejima for dreaming it up! Whew!! Winning the Yusho is hard work. Shirokuma and I are exhausted! Time to sit down and throw back some sake to celebrate! Thanks everyone for playing.

Instead of “Haha” to indicate you’re happy with your pick, why not ❤️? “Haha” to me indicates you’re laughing at who your pick is.

Please include my friends Kaminariyuki and Chanko Thief.

Please count me in!

Hi Fujisan, I’m not a Scream fan but out of curiosity, I Googled “Anika and Ethan switching their hats”. I found a Reddit discussion where one poster said they heard that the actors did it during a take and the directors loved it & decided to keep it that way. P.S. It made me happy that you liked the second card I made for you.
