  1. Day 12- I really enjoyed doing this today. And now for the hard part.. Yep, it's time again for me to remind you that donations are accepted at http://www.dichne.com/donate.html No obligation-just as a token of appreciation for my time, especially this basho with all that happened. I hate myself every time I do this, but I spend hours on this..so.. Thanks for all your efforts. Happy to contribute
  2. What's the status of Hakuho's injury today?
  3. And in this basho, that always seems to be a contributing factor... the slippery dohyo. Was noticing the increasing "no-hands-down-tachi-ai" by perhaps more than half the rikishi. On a surface such as this, perhaps keeping a low centre of gravity might not be a bad thing - and a there are more than a few guys whose initial charge is right out of an almost upright crouch. This surface seems to get more slippery as the basho continues, so we wait and see. Yet, the secret to salvation might be to NOT lean too far over. To keep some traction, I once suggested that some guys might tape up their feet, but use the sticky side on the outside. Might not be according to Hoyle, but it might supply some grip on that surface, no? With the sticky surface on the outside, how do they keep the tape on their feet? Safety pins? Staples
  4. What are the rules for a nine-way playoff?
  5. @7:17 Could be a boredom-related injury?
  6. It must have been a while since Hakuho fought from that side of the dohyo. It's a wonder he knew which direction to go
  7. Thanks as always, Kintamayama. Great work. Since he gave up the nonsense, I'm enjoying watching Aran
  8. Well played, sir!
  9. Shana tova!
  10. Man, I was looking forward to YBF's video. Seriously though, that's a real shame. What an awful injury.
  11. Make sure you post a video
  12. Yikes, that didn't look good for Kotooshu.
  13. A day after we returned-the company went bankrupt.. Hopefully the day after you were paid
  14. Great to see you back, Kintamayama. Hope the cruise gig went well
  15. Man, the Hakuho-Kisenosato match was a classic! "You want to play silly buggers with me? Fine. I'll play silly buggers with you."
  16. Can't wait to see Harumafuji's win again. He just about pushed him out of the stadium
  17. My initial reaction to this comment was, "Huh?" That looked every bit like a good old Aran-esque Henka. And I thought, what good is it to develop all those really cool, chick-magnet muscles if all you're going to do is the Time Warp Again.... (Except to the left... Some of you will know what I mean...) Then I took a frame-by-frame look, and it wasn't a henka in the structest sense but a beautifully timed lunge for the right arm. This was a move worthy of Mainoumi. Maybe they could wrap a diver's belt around Taka's waist to give him more ballast? I agree. He was so quick that Ikioi never knew what hit him
  18. Perhaps not a log on problem, but my work server (which is normally pretty permissive) ishas started blocking sumoforum on the basis that "it has been verified as serving malware". Any ideas on why this might be happening?
  19. That's one heck of a cake!
  20. Before the basho ends, I must thank you again, Kintamayama. I never miss your compilation. It's as much a part of the event as the throwing of the salt or Aran pulling a henka.
  21. What a turnaround by Hakuho. He looks like a different man compared with the first week. Is there something on Harumafuji's chin or is it just a blurry bit on the feed?
  22. Hakuho doesn't seem to be able to get a grip on his opponent's mawashi like he used to.
  23. Well said, Bugman. I feel the same way. As an admirer of Hakuho, it doesn't get any better than today's sumo. Thanks again, Kintamayama. You add so much to each basho
  24. I haven't seen Hakuho dump someone mid-dohyo with a uwatenage for a while. Last year it seemed like he could throw anyone down at will once he got a hold of the mawashi
  25. Someone told him to get in the dohyo and then stand in the corner
