  1. As a Japanese PM, Koizumi shouldn't have said something like, "It would be as if we were conquered by Genghis Khan." that will surely fuel some hot blooded japanese fan against the foriegn Yokozunas.
  2. Aren't we going to celebrate an annivesary of Mongolian State, instead of Empire? BuBa, r u a Japanese? I thought u were a Mongolian. anyways, I think it's just the 800th anniversary of 1st Mongolian state or empire. they both mean the same thing because 800 years ago, Mongolian tribes united forming a Mongolian State and Mongolians were already on their way to conquer foriegn states thus forming the Mongol Empire.
  3. well, time changes and things change too. I guess Koizumi thought it was a good idea to support the new Ozeki Hakuho in order to win many Mongolian fans in Mongolia. PM Koizumi is visitting Mongolia this August and I think Japanese and Mongolian governments are signing on a huge project that would benefit Japan in a way of using/borrowing/leasing natural resources and lands.
  4. be nice. if someone say racist bullshit against me, it wouldn't be nice to everybody here. so plz be nice. so you can win my respect for u.
  5. somehow I feel that Hakuho won't get the Yokozuna this year. Next year? yeah, I think he'll get promoted to the Yokozuna. Hakuho has shown somewhat weak sumo during Sep, Nov, and January bashos statically.
  6. I gave my poll and I agree w/ the poll's current results. Even though Hakuho's been an excellent Ozeki, he hasn't yet demonstrated the Yokozuna rank sumo. so, I'm glad that NSK didn't promote him after Nagoya basho. However, I'm lil bit sad about the decision NSK made on Miyabiyama's return Ozeki promotion. He's been showing very good ozeki-quality sumo and i'm afriad that it's getting the harder for him to get promoted as he's getting older. NSK should've promoted him Ozeki this time, and i believe all the fan would agree w/ the promotion.
  7. There are some news rumors of the new expected baby is a boy in Mongolia. Wishing Yokozuna and his whole family the happiness and the best.
  8. Hello guys, I'm sorry for making you guys argue over all these bullshits. I've been busy last few days and couldn't check the sumoforum.net. I won't say anything, won't talk about the things the Admins and Moderators think bullshit. You Moderators can delete all the topics I've opened in Sumoforum.net. I'm cool with it. And I stay around to entertain you guys sometimes. Have a good one, serv. p.s. a french admin from info-sumo.net is making racist points against me? i'm just a Mongolian fan, who doesn't care about illegally compailed Sumo vidoes on some french webpages. and i'm sure i know about a Mongolian sumo wrestler better than an old-fat-french-fry who thinks he's Yokozuna in his small frenchie 4 walls. let's share the sumo with the World. i love sharing the illegal stuff with other... hahaha.
  9. oh well...
  10. I got the feeling that only you guys don't wanna hear about some fake sumos as you were NSK officials. How about the Kyushu(November) Basho 2004's play between Asashoryu and Kaio? .rm RealPlayer video link To me, Asa just gave on Kaio with hopes of NSK promoting Kaio a Yokozuna. The Aki basho of the same year, Kaio got the Yusho and NSK was saying that if Kaio got 13 or more wins on the Kyushu, they would promote Kaio a Yokozuna. However, by the 14th day of the Kyushu, Kaio already had 3 loses and Asa already got the Yusho. Then all of sudden, NSK starting telling the media that if Kaio wins the last day of the basho, they would again consider the Kaio's yokozuna promotion even with his 3 loses. is there a possible 'fake' match on the last day between them? i believe the day 15th match of Asa and Kaio was a fake one. just look at how Asa wasn't showing his sumo, very weak sumo against Kaio, just waiting for Kaio's yorikiri and trying to show it as a real match.
  11. being in Sandanme means still in the sumo business...
  12. anybody knows different website that has the Nagoya and other basho's videos, links to the vids? anybody knows websites that doesn't bother with the laws and don't care of fear of getting sued from NHK and NSK? I'm looking for websites that are simple and easy to access the videos without any complications.
  13. the video link was removed by the moderator Jonosuke-san and i'm okay with it as long as Getayukata saw the video. He wasn't able to connect to the info-sumo.net. it's nice to share the videos with other fans whose are unable to see the live match. And I know great fans at info-sumo.net compiled the match and put it on their server. it takes lots of time and engery to do so. I really appreciate you for making it possible for other fans. I couldn't locate the English version of the website and not knowing any French, i stole and downloaded the videos to make it possible for more fans without first asking permission from the webmaster. :P is the content still the property of NSK and NHK television? can the videos be uploaded freely on info-sumo.net? I'd like to know how the copyright & other bullcrap international law work on this particular case. it seems like if u follow all these laws, it's impossible to use the videos for everbody. :(
  14. retirees from the Jonokuchi and Jonidan are not really retirees. they are little kids. I think they quit it for some reason. It is hard to be in the sumo world for ordinaries. only the meant sumo wrestlers stay in the business...
  15. ...He has leapfrogged over 800 people to be at the very top of an extremely demanding profession where aggressiveness is vital. He's been alone there for a very long time. Compounding that, his every move is being followed by fans and the... I went to the same highschool with Asashoryu back in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. And our apartments are also close by in the town too. That doesn't mean i know him personally, but I do know his highschool reputation on his determined character among the students and kids. he's been always on the top in sports during his highschool. among the students, he was regarded as the most brave, strong, hardworking kid in sport-vice and bully & bossy boy in the street-vice. kids from other highschool also know his brave fighting characters well. He's been many champions of the youth wrestling. So, i think it's a part of his character that doesn't want to lose the match, doesn't fear whoever his opponent, and does have true hard working sportsmanship to reach his goal. we can say that he doesn't like to send a msg to other rikishi that it's okay to beat him. He wants to be on the top and that's why there's only one Yokozuna in the sumo now. He has the most powerful mental strenght than other rikishi. that helps him stay on the top. All of these characters fuel him and keep his top status in the sumo. When I watch the bashos on either the internet cast or NHK TV, I see many Japanese fans disliking him even he wins the bout. I don't think it's because he has a huge guts and ego, or whatever you guys call it. I don't think it's because of his inappropriate or bad behavior. I think it's typical thing for foriegn yokozunas in the sumo. i believe all these "negative" characters you guys mentioning actually helped him to reach the Yokozuna rank in the sumo. He didn't get these characters after he became Yokozuna. I can see he's acting more like Yokozuna. he looks calm and humble and respect other rikishi. as he gets more experience and time passes, he turns his "bad" behaivs into positive ones of a yokozuna.
  16. thank you for the links! This's a great website, it has the kind of info I've been looking for a long time. Thank you again.
  17. It's been off topic for awhile. Let's stop it here. sorry if i offended ya. hope u r all fine. back to the topic...
  18. i do lots of stereotyping, which is a bad thing. i'm sorry if i offended someone. i think this topic is going too far... haha
  19. japanese government are trying to rent some land in Mongolia cuz there are too many ppl in Japan. and, 1930s war on Mongolia was a bad thing for that time. i don't know if Mongolians gonna lease a peice of land to Japanese. probably not, there's a Mongolian saying that, even if the God asks you a small land for a neddle, don't give the God the land piece.
  20. Isn't hard for Mongolians to observe how best young wrestlers are packing theirs bags and leave Mongolia? Best wrestlers who don't care about national sport - they simply abandon own tradition and go to historical rivals, Japanese. They wear japanese clothes, hairstyle etc. Isn't this an insult for heirs of Hubilai Khaan ? ;-) not at all. there are plenty of young wrestlers in the Nation. For example, Asashoryu's brother got his Mongolian Yokozuna rank this summer's competition. I don't think there's a single successful Japanese in Mongolian national wrestling to your answer. it's a wise to use the opportunity in Japan to dominate in their Ozumo. because only the best stay in Ozumo and become their Yokozunas. It's a natural selection just like in Darwin's law. in Ozumo, there isn't any tsunami except NSK unstable promises. :P And Mongolians are proud of the young wrestlers for their attempts. Be a Roman in Rome. If you wanna be the one of the greatness, u got to wear japanese kimonos, do their hairstyle, etc. okay i think it's enough. otherwise the Admins wouldn't like the arguement. p.s. on some history and culture of Mongolia, Mongolians only pay some respect to Hubilai Khan just because of his grandfather, Chingis Khaan and the attempt to the Japan. However, Hubilai was raised with Chinese influence so he moved Mongolian capital city to Beejing, and it's the beginning of the collapse of the Mongol empire. For that reason, most of the Mongolians dislike him. and if u think there's an insult for heirs of Hubilai Khaan, that's an excellent news for rest of the Mongolian. And most Mongolians dislike the inner Mongolians in China for some historical reasons too. but it's way off the topic. sorry. :P
  21. that tells me that Asashoryu didn't do his sumo with Hakuho on that day. It's obvious from their match replays. And he gave up on Hakuho willingly (with carefully planned intention) on that last 15th day bout with hope of Hakuho's 69th Yokozuna. And he'd be always remembered as a great warrior for Mongolian generations giving the gift of 69th Mongolian Yokozuna as he promised on Hakuho's Ozeki party, though some non-Mongolians say it was a joke of Russian jeep. And, Ozumo'd have two Mongolian Yokozuna and it's a great pride for Mongolians since the Hubilai Khaan' unsuccessful attempt of conquering the Japan and revenge of late 1930's Japan's war on eastern Mongolian borders, Khalkhiin Gol. Khalkhiin Gol is a river with meaning of river of Halh. Halh means Mongolians. if NSK gave the Yokozuna to Hakuho after Nagoya basho, it would be hard on most Japanese as an insult to have not one, even more Yokozunas from the historical rivals, Mongolians. :P
  22. wow, that's very harsh. poor Konishiki.
  23. I agree. However, Asashoryu had already won the basho and Hakuho was making the attempt to become a yokozuna. That's right, Asashoryu already won the basho on 14th day, and he has done many Zensho Yushos. by the day 15th, it was an excellent chance for Hakuho to make the Yokozuna as NSK's 13 or more bouts promise. Then they decided not to give him the promotion. losing his 1st bout on the 1st day of basho is the reason for NSK's decision? or his Mongolian or the NSK's Japanese born Yokozuna need? NSK shouldn't make false promise before the basho and it's very hard on the rikishi mentally and physically. NSK did something similiar to Kaio for his Yokozuna promotion announcement before the bashos. Why just don't the rikishi who wins the Yusho two in a row promoted to the Yokozuna? no more 13 or more wins, or 12 or more wins, or 10 or more wins with Japanese citizenship, etc...
  24. Asa's already been the greatness, at least one of the great. He's on a way to much more greatness now. we just can't really tell about his greatness cuz the greatness usually takes place past a long time ago. Ppl do speak about greatness from the past, not the present. he made some 3 records with 7 yushos in a row. many sure he can have the record of a rikishi with most yushos in the 6-basho/year format. i think Asa knows that he'll be remembered as the greatness, if not, as one of the great. It's only when Hakuho gets his Yokozuna rank: last basho, next Septemter basho, or maybe sometime in next year. NSK has been longing for another Yokozuna and of course they want Japanese born Yokozuna for the pride. Last 3 basho, Hakuho won total of 40(13-14-13) bouts with one Yusho. When other Yokozunas recieved their Yokozuna, they had won between 34 and 39 bouts in their last 3 bashos. Only Yokozuna Takanohana had 41 bouts when he got his Yokozuna. Yokozuna Musashimaru had 34 for example. Any of you know what are the rules of NSK's yokozuna acceptance?
  25. I really don't want to get into arguing with you but since you are talking about Ozumo, a very Japanese tradition, then with your logic, you may not understand it at all because you are not a Japanese. Basically whenever this type of opinion comes up, I'd like to point out, any given day anyone at this level can beat anyone else including the yokozuna. Remember Hokutoriki. Another is that Hakuho deserves much more credit that what you have given. Hakuho is really proud of his father's accomplishments and he more than anyone else wants to reach the summit all on his own, not being helped out by anyone else especially by the yokozuna. If he did, he'd never able to win any bout against the yokozuna in the future. And remember this is not the first time he beat Asashoryu. One more, a Zensho Yusho means a great deal to Asashoryu as it's so hard to achieve. Asashoryu is there to make himself a great yokozuna if not already and not making someone else a yokozuna. thank you for reply. plz let me try to make my point once again cuz it seems like you didn't quite get me. 1st of all, i know i'll never understand some of Japanese Sumo/Ozumo tradition cuz' i'm not a Japanese. I have no idea about Japan and its culture. all i got are from the news, books, ppl who went there, and some japan-related Hollywood movies. :P it's a totally different culture to me to comprehend. 2ndly, please note that I don't say that Hakuho always wins the Yokozuna fakely. I am only talking about the last day match between them, to be more precisely, the last match on the Nagoya Basho of 2006. I am sure Hakuho is the next soon to be Yokozuna. It seems like Hakuho is the 2nd top rikishi in the current NSK as today. What you won't understand unless you are Mongolian is that most of the Mongolians can do and willing to do fake wrestling in order to achieve whatever goal they want. In the Ozumo, doing fake wrestling is not understandable/undoable cuz Japanese culture isn't forgivable on those matters. if one wasn't true his tradition, one would cuts off his fingers or even does the suicide in Japanese famous Samurai culture, and many Japanese proudly say that Ozumo and the Samurai are the same in culture-vice. I am just making my guess about their match that it might be a fake one with hope that Hakuho reaches the Yokozuna rank. finally, i can tell that Mongolians can do the things that Japanese can't think of or vice versa. in order words, Japanese can think the things that Mongolian never think of. hope u get my lousy idea. i wasn't argueing w/ u, just trying to make more sense of Ozumo.
