madorosumaru Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 The Tamanoi Blog gives us a rare glimpse into the life of the ordinary sumotori. Since we joined the blog in midstream, we have missed some very interesting and informative entries. As I mentioned before, from time time, I will go back and retrieve some of those "archival" stories. * * * * * 07/12/05 Ozumo Day 2! Good evening! This is Tooyama! Today is Day 2 of Nagoya Basho. It looked really hot in Nagoya, but it was hot as heck in Tokyo, too. Tochiazuma-zeki won again today so we were all relieved. Back home at the heya in Tokyo, Okami-san kneeled in front of the Shinto altar and prayed for success. I saw on television Tochiazuma-zeki

Ozumo Nagoya Basho Day 3. Thanks to everyone, Tochiazuma-zeki won again today. I think all your support is reaching him. Today, I would like to write about some pointers for greater enjoyment when you watch sumo telecasts. Of course, since it is my personal opinion, there could be other things that are more interesting. One may very well enjoy a dohyo-iri by watching it in the normal way, but there are many interesting things about the kesho-mawashi. As you know, kesho-mawashi are presented by the rikishi

madorosumaru Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 During the Las Vegas Koen, there were various sightings of rikishi riding on roller coasters. In Japan, sumo-san have difficulty in finding cars large enough to accommodate them but not in America. Young guys like Hakuho were excited by the speed and thrills of the rides. A notable party-pooper was Robocop who chickened out by saying, "I hate high places." Well, that tendency shows on the banzuke, too. Here is an episode from June which is another one of Gacktoh-san's favorites. * * * * * 6/24/05 Scream Machine!? (Roller Coaster) See Note 1 Below Good evening! I am the Tooyama that ran into a little old lady in the hallway at the hospital and was asked,

madorosumaru Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 I like his Tamanoi shirt! Apparently, a lot of people like it, too. It's displayed on the Tamanoi Web Page. Unfortunately, the shirt is just a prototype made for the heya and is not yet for sale. Here is the web page of the outfit that made it.
Cammy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 That is a big ass lego!!! I really like the shirt, I think that it looks better in black.

madorosumaru Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 10/24/05 On The Jungyo Road Good evening. This is Takayoshi. Today was a rest day on the jungyo tour.
