madorosumaru Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Futeno: (Smiling uneasily despite kachikoshi) I always lose the day after I'm surrounded by you reporters. Kotomitsuki: (Winning his eighth straight after mono-ii) Kyokushuzan is also going well so I didn't want to fall into his pace and pattern. I happened to be able to win, but the [sumo] content was not so great. Kyokushuzan: (Losing a tough one) That was too darn close. I thought I had won. It was good sumo so I shouldn't feel too bad. Still, I thought it would be tori-naoshi. Tochiazuma: (Speaking as the last hope to stop Asashoryu) For the remaining three days, I will do my utmost with all the strength I possess. Tosanoumi: (Chalk up another Asashoryu victim) The Yokozuna hits really hard. That's bad [for me]. Asashoryu: (Cool as cucumber) I've lost a couple of times by pulling so I made sure I didn't backtrack. I was able to use my hips well in the nage. More Ryu: (Asked about his match against Hakuho) It's business as usual. Chiyotaikai: (A bit of indecisiveness shown with two matta) I was thinking of all sorts of things [tactically] and couldn't go forward all out. I wanted to start by pushing him and then find a winning opportunity in the [ensuing] flow. Kokonoe Oyakata: (Observing the futility of Taikai's oshi against the much taller Kotooshu) It was the difference in their size. Kotooshu: (Miracle makeover: from petulance to smiles overnight) Yesterday was yesterday. Today is today. [i've already forgotten about "Yesterday."]

madorosumaru Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 YESTERDAY Inspired by Kotooshu Yesterday, I was so mad there was hell to pay Now my wound's healed and I feel okay Yes, I've forgotten 'bout yesterday Today, I'm back to myself as a Beckham wannabe The yokozuna's not nearly as cute as me Yes, yesterday is his-tory What one good win can do I cannot over-say I flipped Taikai and gone was all my deep dismay Yesterday, being a spoiled gaijin was my sorry way I went to the furoba to cry and flail away But now, I've forgotten 'bout yesterday
Onnagumo Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 :-S I don't know what's funnier, the pics or the lyrics..... :-P
Coo-cook Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Both are so funny like hell. Even I did sing to myself with new "Yesterday" lyric. (Sign of approval)
ilovesumo Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 (edited) Suddenly, all the girls are screaming just for me... hmmm...we could try it with KISS I was made for beating you baby, you were made for falling down... Or Joe Cocker (up where we belong) ..... where Gyojis fly down the Dohjo high.... Your job guys, I cannot "produce" such songs in a foreign language but have many ideas in my own. :-S It could be a new game?! The Basho-karaoke-overkill. To create funny fake pics is also a nice thing... Edited May 19, 2005 by ilovesumo

Zuikakuyama Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Yeah, combine the two things that are pure Japanese, Sumo and Karaoke.
Jonosuke Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I really love all these song stuff. I never imagined Turtles would get in there somehow a while back. Perhpas you can re-post the top 10 songs after the basho to remember the basho by. This Oshu's Yesterday is really classic (Laughing...)
hoshidango Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Man it has been repeated time & time again I am starting to crack up too! You guys are very good. Taizeniki-madorosumaru did you know each other before signing up at the forum?
madorosumaru Posted May 20, 2005 Author Posted May 20, 2005 Sorry, Joe. That wasn't the pop Turtles but a reference to Dewanosato's "slow shusse." Ergo, his advice: "Don't join sumo and make it your life." The original, Billy Soul's "If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, don't get a pretty girl for a wife," is one of the greatest, underappreciated masterpieces ever. hoshidango, I did not have the pleasure of knowing Taizeniki until a week ago on this forum. She is a very gifted lady. While I am at it, thanks to all the others that had nice comments for the thread. Sumo should be fun!
