Hokutokuni has been kyujo for over a year now. If he doesn't make a late show this basho or go intai, he will complete a drop from Juryo to banzuki-gai in July. Do we have any info on what his problem is?

I'd read he had had some sort of head injury before the basho. I wonder if this is related?

Cervical vertebrae sprain-two weeks recovery needed. It is indeed the injury he got before the basho during training, and the pain has been steadily growing, says his Oyakata.
