Asashosakari 18,786 Posted July 15, 2006 On day 8 already? Why.................. Because there are more than 4 active Ozeki/Yokozuna. The top 4 (Asa, Hakuho, Taikai, Kaio) will be busy fighting each other from day 13 to 15, which means that Kotooshu and Tochiazuma need to get their bouts against those guys out of the way until Day 12. Kurinoku 0 Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) Yumitori-shiki Maegashira? OT Asashosakari, why so modest? Let's aim higher: Yumitori-shiki Yokozuna? (Laughing...) (On the banzuke...) (Dohyo-iri...) I at least wouldn't mind, I like the guy... (Nodding yes...) Edited July 15, 2006 by Kurinoku

I at least wouldn't mind, I like the guy... (Nodding yes...) Step-by-step. ;-) I'm just very impressed with the guy right now, hence the temporary avatar change...I fully expected that his 10-5 from last basho would be a fluke, and he'll start making his way back to Makushita this month, but his current 6-1 is nothing short of awesome. Here's hoping for another double-digit result! Edited July 15, 2006 by Asashosakari

yamaneko 2 Posted July 16, 2006 The one a lot of us have been waiting for forever is tomorrow: Baruto vs. Kotooshu Battle of the giants. I better not see a henka from either of them after the way those two guys cried when hakurozan (i think?) pulled one on each of them.
Sashohitowa 6 Posted July 16, 2006 The one a lot of us have been waiting for forever is tomorrow:Baruto vs. Kotooshu Battle of the giants. I better not see a henka from either of them after the way those two guys cried when hakurozan (i think?) pulled one on each of them. I see that most of you guys here don't like henka. But I think it is an important part of the strategic and mental clash between the rikishi. So when it happens, I don't have pitty for the lost guy = if he hasn't been fast enough and smart enough, then he deserves the loss. Kotooshu has been victim of hekka quite often, but on the other hand he also uses hatakikomi from time to time. Baruto seems to be doing more open and outgoing sumo... So I don't expect him just to step aside - having in mind how he was looking forward meeting Kotooshu on the dohyo...
Notsukutsu 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Can't say I'd expect Baruto to win this one, but this should be a very good bout. Anybody care to guess the number of kenshos? :)
Sashohitowa 6 Posted July 16, 2006 Anybody care to guess the number of kenshos? :) 5... (Whistling...) There are not much money put on Kotooshu recently... And, from what I saw from Baruto - Kotomitsuki clash - they are (still!) not puting much on Baruto neither...
Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted July 16, 2006 Go Kotooshu! For all those who haven't noticed, Kotooshu will be the first Ozeki to fight Baruto. I'm hoping for a brilliant win for Kotooshu. Baruto already fought Hakuho. Last basho, but who is counting?
