Guest kurokarasu Posted May 20, 2006 Hello there! My name is Alin and I'm writing from Romania... I don't think there are too many Romanian fans around here so there was no sense in starting a new topic with "Hello form Romania". Anyhow, I'm 21 years old and have been watching sumo since Musashimaru was at his highest.. Now thanx to live streaming I have become more of a fan.. My favourites are: Asashoryu.. It is realy nice to see what an excelent sumo player can do. Hakuho.. another mongolian that is going to make an excelent yokozuna.. He is only one month older than me and he's one of the most talented sumo players I've seen. Kaio and Chiyotaikai - respect! Kotooshu - my southern neighbour. I so wanted him to win that championship when he went into the extra round against Asashoyu. Maybe later.. Baruto - Surprizing run for this young European.. I haven't seen him yet (having troubles with my internet connection), but I think he's in a very good shape. So, hope this is the begining of a beautiful friendship and that I'll will be able to learn more about sumo.. PS: I have great respect for Japanese way of doing things. If I am out of place sometimes, feel free to let me know. For example, I don't know if my chosen name realy means black raven and if it's unsual for someone to carry that name.. ;-)
Sasanishiki 57 Posted May 21, 2006 Hi Alin and welcome to the forum. I've split this message off from the other thread and started your own one. Don't worry that there might not be any other Romanians (not sure if there are or not), we're happy to have you here and people might want to ask you questions that are different from the previous thread about Germany and the new-ish member Tikozan. Don't worry about upholding Japanese customs as most of the people here are not Japanese, and many have not spent any time there!! We all just love sumo in differing ways and so that is why we are here. By the way, your name does mean black raven so you did well in choosing it! If you have any questions then feel free to ask, but also remember that there is a search function and the answer might already be waiting for you somewhere. We look forward to hearing what you have to say in the forum!!

Guest kurokarasu Posted May 22, 2006 Thanx guys for the wellcome! (Hugging...) I have browsed through the forum a bit, and saw that there are lots of forigners around here.. Also, even though I had a little problem finding the information page, now that I can find most of the terms people more acustomed to ozumo use I will be able to follow up the discutions with much more ease.. Too bad though that this basho is over.. I would have liked to read the replies when they were posted and not 2 weeks after.. but at least now I'm on board.. :-)

Coo-cook 0 Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) Welcome to the forum Kurokarasu (from the land of brave prince Dracula. I'm just kidding. (Hugging...) ) As Sasanishiki said, we all love sumo ....and sometimes we argue about this and that....about countries, customs and stereotypes...and sometimes overreact (like me)...But, at the end we understand each other somehow, I think. So, welcome again. Edited May 22, 2006 by Coo-cook
