"Golden-haired Sekitori" Baruto Cast in CM (Nikkan Sports)

The "Golden-haired Sekitori" Baruto (21) that everyone is talking about is appearing in a TV commercial. The commercial for ANA (All Nippon Airlines) also stars Takamisakari, acting clueless, and Hakurozan. The commercial began airing on day 14 of the basho, or March 25.

I personally saw this commercial, but I was at the fitness club at the time and the sound on the TV was off (I was listening to my own tunes anyway) so I couldn't hear what they said. The joke appeared to have something to do with salt.

According to a description by a Japanese blogger, the ANA commercial is pushing their new route to Europe.

Robo, Baruto and Hakurozan are eating together at a yakiniku (BBQ) restaurant. Robo, as usual, plays the part of a dummkopf. Baruto teases him by saying, "In Hungary, when there isn't enough salt, they say 'shiotaran'--which sounds plausibly foreign but also means 'short of salt' in Japanese. Robo is skeptical and his brain goes into overdrive. Hakuro makes matters worse by chiming in, "Yep, it's true."

The scene cuts to the dohyo where Robo is about to chuck his salt. Instead, he stands there frozen, deep in thought about the salt in his hand. ANA's familar catch phrase is heard in a voice-over: "Wouldn't it be a lot faster just to go there!"
