Yes that is a worrying if not unexpected development following Hoshifransus self imposed exile from sumo gaming but I'm sure someone can take the job on. (Blushing...)

Its just my luck though now that I'm on the verge of sanyaku after 3 years playing the game.

Hey, there are still 6 bashos left till he leaves, dude. Enough time for you to fall back to Juryo..

Or become Ozeki.

Please wait for the bashing till i have finished.

Of course the Juryo game is something very special and different from any other game (proof: at this game, i would really suck, at the other games, i only suck), and if it vanishes, there will be no game about Juryo any more.

But recently, i had the impression, that we had a decline in many games, even complete intais of very experienced sumo gamers. Obviously, we could do nothing, if these gamers have no interest in sumo any more or have absolutely no time.

On the other hand, if you concentrate on just 3 or 4 games a basho, the needed time will kept at a reasonable level.

I do not want to kill games, but i have the opinion, that we are going into the wrong direction.

Another idea, which will reduce the necessary time for the sumo gamers, is to create a single entry for all pre-basho games and translate this input into the input for all other games. E.g. if you make a qualified entry for toto, you could derive all other entries.

The solution is not to allow popular games to die Asamoe, nor is it to restrict the choice of games.

I like playing 20+ games a basho so why should I lose out because of what appears to be a suggestion of some sort of game cull.

If others feel the need to go intai thats their business and if some games close through lack of support thats the way it goes but Juryo game is a good and popular game and it needs saving.

Bashing finished.

Hard to keep the pleasure when too many games are played. I have stopped some games (I have played one time in some and few basho in others), and I think in the new year I'll stop another games... Only to keep the pleasure of playing. Besides, some games have same rules (or really similar)...

And when a basho is beginning : during 2 weeks, it's look like I have no social life :-P

I agree with AsaMoe on the fact that concentrate on just a little number of game could be better to keep gaming pleasure and social life (Gyoji...)

Fujisan, I hope we'll meet again in Sumo Game. You won last time, I want my "revenge" ;-) :-D

The only thing that stops my enjoyment of the games is losing and theres nothing I can do about that except make better picks, which means spending more time on them.

It doesn't affect my social life, just my Telly time because I watch less television and play less on my playstation during the basho to give me any extra time I need.

As for meeting you in Sumo game Sakana,I look forward to it but I hope losing will not spoil your enjoyment. :-D

Hi, all

Thanks to Jejima-zeki and all for your kind messages about the Juryo Game.

Well, at the moment, I'm proud to announce we've got a team of a couple of fans to carry on the game !

Senpai-zeki and Tameiki-zeki. That's very good to find such involved fans like them ready to keep it alive !

If they think they've got time enough to make the JG at two, well, I have to close my warning messages or maybe they could need the help of a third fan ?

They have to decide too if they want to let the game like it is or to change it (a bit or completely) to make it a bit more personal to them ?

Thanks to all for your interest for this game and for your interest for the underdogs of the lower divisions !

Low divisions wrestlers have got the faith too, maybe they are working very very much too, but even if they're not talented enough or physically not naturally strong enough to access the top flight, nevermind, they deserve to be followed ! That's the purpose of the Juryo Game.

Thanx to Tameiki-zeki and to Senpai-zeki to keep that spirit alive.

Thanx to the JG players too to keep the spirit alive.

As far as I'm concerned, I am pained too much by the end of my favorite rikishi (Musoyama, Musashimaru, Akebono, Kotonowaka, Terao, Takatoriki, Gojoro, Wakanoyama ...) pained by the fact the Japanese are humiliated in their own sport-tradition, at the point I do not find any more sense to japanese traditional sumo dominated by the non-Japanese. I am nostalgic of the Taka-Waka-Hawaiians time. Now it's the time of worldwide sumo (worldwide except Hawaii), so definitively not my time !

Cheers,

Thanx to all,

From Paris,

Hoshimambo aka Hoshif'ransu.

Have an happy new Year 2006 !

Pain is good when it is good pain. Don't be pained. Be optimistic. Pessimism never did any good. You are not realistic either. There are big Japanese rikishi coming up too. You like fat rikishi so Dewaotori is one for you. If you give up following sumo when things are not going your way, you will betray all Japanese rikishi you are supporting. Most pathetic fans are fans who only root for their heroes when they are doing well. Not saying you are like that but you let yourself fall into this pessimistic mode. If you don't like sumo anymore, then it is a different case. I guess if sumo doesn't feel good anymore, then go but before that, do dedicate an hour or two to profound thinking of what sumo is to you and why are you so pessimistic. Pay attention to Sawai and Kageyama for example and tell me then there are no strong Japanese rikishi coming..or that damn Kisenosato who must be oyakata's nightmare and dream come true at the same time. Enjoy Asashoryu's morozashi or check the elegance of Kasugao. Give a chance to Harunoyama. Pessimism is totally fruitless. Predetermined negative attitude is the surest way to see everything in bad light.

Who cares what others say though! Everyone is a fan on his/her own terms and likes or dislikes sumo and thinks Asashoryu is psycho or benevolent human or loses interest in sumo or not. Ignore and compose a mindset on personal level.
