Avitohol 0 Posted November 25, 2005 (Blushing...) :-P can't wait till the evening to watch the bout (the live stream was full) but have to go to work now, i'm already being late. (Laughing...)
Zuikakuyama 1 Posted November 25, 2005 And a well deserved promotion. I didn't think he had it in him to beat shoryu. Now only if Chiyotaikai can get yusho.. but that is asking a bit too much.
Senpai 0 Posted November 25, 2005 It must concile the ozeki promotion. (Blushing...)
QttP 0 Posted November 25, 2005 I'd like to hope it's gonna be like Hatsu 99. It's not very probable, but if it happens, it's gonna be the best ending ever to an otherwise dull year. At least it ain't gonna be another 10-2 -> 10-5.
Oimeru 0 Posted November 25, 2005 (Blushing...) Hooray! Nowadays every loss for Shoryu makes me happy -- gives at least the illusion of a yusho race.
Tumppi 0 Posted November 25, 2005 (edited) Big day for sumo! (Laughing...) And it looks like I'll pass my medical exam as well! (Weeping...) Edited November 25, 2005 by Tumppi
Olenishiki 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Now only if Chiyotaikai can get yusho.. but that is asking a bit too much. I happen to have generally good feelings about Chiyotaikai, but I can hardly hope for his winning the yusho, as interesting as that would be dramatically, after that creepy henka against Kaio. Yes, I'm sure that is the exact reason why Chiyotaikai doesn't deserve the yusho, because no other yusho winner in history ever had to resort to henka to win his yusho. (Weeping...) Faustonowaka 79 Posted November 25, 2005 No? (In a state of confusion...) How about Tochiazuma's first Yusho then ? He beat Chiyotaikai with a henka in a kettei-sen... http://www.banzuke.com/~movies/hatsu2002/d...ai_tochiazu2.rm

(Nodding yes...) The tenth or twentieth wrong don't make it right. Surely sumo, more than almost any other sport, legitimizes the raising of the questions of good form and dignity of competition to assess the quality of a victory, especially of the yusho as a whole and especially by an ozeki. Zenjimoto 39 Posted November 25, 2005 I can't really fault Chiyotaikai for henka'ing Kaio... the poor guy has tried everything ELSE in vain for basically 4 years now - how much can you take? (Nodding yes...) Finally, something that works, after 15 consecutive losses. He paid his dues! :-) Cheers Zenjimoto

Fine. Asashoryu did an henka against Chiyotaikai in 2003 and he did a semi-henka against Kyokushuzan last time they met. Let's deny his right for yusho until the end of time. Asa has been forgiven for his sins and intends to sin no more. (Though come to think of it, even Chiyo asked forgiveness for his sin--see today's quotes. I'm making the sign of the cross over him even now.) (Nodding yes...)

I would like to believe that today but I am forced to wait until the next time Asa falls two wins behind the front-runner with four days to go...and finishes the basho without sin. :-) Edited November 26, 2005 by Shomishuu
