Mark Buckton 1 Posted November 24, 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4465456.stm for fans of football - a loss to the game - soon. Best was a bit before my time at Old Trafford but................................ Stupid for drinking like he did and I guess this is paying the price. :-P
Kasugaran 0 Posted November 24, 2005 I was sure he had died years ago.... :-P Anyway, I guess you reap what you sew and he has probably been lucky to get this far. We will always have the film of him at his best, sorry for the pun, he was a great footballer. It's sad that he got the liver transplant though, it could have gone to someone more worthy who wasn't going to destroy it...
Kintamayama 38,267 Posted November 25, 2005 As long as he's still with us, let's pray for a miracle. I don't like it when people die.
Fujisan 470 Posted November 25, 2005 (edited) As a recovering alcoholic and someone who's friends where told that the doctors hadn't expected me to last the night when I was hospitalised through alcohol induced pancreatitis-I do understand the battles that George has had but I also understand why people think he shouldn't have been given a new liver because he was given every chance to make the changes in his life and I know it can be done. Its sad but I cant say it was unexpected. Edited November 25, 2005 by Fujisan
