Hoshifransu 0 Posted November 30, 2002 Welcome aboard, Fluffyyama-zeki ! I am a great fan of "small man" sumo This is the reverse, for me, I'm focused on heavy-weights wrestlers like Konishiki, Musashimaru, Akebono, Gokenzan, Towanoyama, etc.. Though wrestlers like Chiyonofuji and Asashoryu are absolutely fantastic and I love them too !!! 8-O
Zenjimoto 39 Posted November 30, 2002 So! Fluffyyama is a fellow Floridian! A rather rare thing, it seems, the Floridian sumo fan (and -game player! ) :) I have been playing with the idea of contacting all us Florida fans and forming a consolidated Heya, Hinata-beya (Hinata = Sunshine, as in Sunshine State)... How about it? :) Cheers! Zenjimoto (Jacksonville)
Fujisan 523 Posted December 27, 2002 HI Fluffyyama,I always thought Kitao alias Futahaguro was kicked out cos he didnt win a single Yusho, even before becoming Yokozuna, isnt he the only Yokozuna to fail to win a single one?
Zentoryu 154 Posted December 27, 2002 HI Fluffyyama,I always thought Kitao alias Futahaguro was kicked out cos he didnt win a single Yusho, even before becoming Yokozuna, isnt he the only Yokozuna to fail to win a single one? Yes, he is the only Yokozuna never to have won a Yusho. But that's not what he got kicked out for. It was, as Fluffy-zeki stated, for a confrontation with his Oyakata, though I can't remember if it was the Oyakata himself or the Oyakata's wife that he hit. But it was something along those lines. He was given the boot by the Kyokai shortly afterward for dishonorable conduct.
Fujisan 523 Posted December 28, 2002 Yes thanks Zentoryu, mine was an assumption based on his poor record and I only know that from what I read on the Nikkon official sumo site.
