Doitsuyama 1,185 Posted September 23, 2005 Asashoryu won against Kotooshu to prevent an early yusho decision on day 13. The Bulgarian still has a one win lead over Asashoryu and two wins on Kisenosato (lost to Kyokutenho) and Chiyotaikai (won against Kotoshogiku). Now we just need Chiyotaikai winning against Asashoryu tomorrow and Kotooshu losing his last two bouts to make a four rikishi playoff possible. More likely is a decision just between Kotooshu and Asashoryu on senshuraku. Kotomitsuki clinches the kachi-koshi against Takamisakari and stays in the sanyaku. Hakuho also is kachi-koshi and will claim the free sanyaku places of Futeno and Wakanosato together with Kyokutenho. If Kotooshu gets promoted to ozeki, someone more will get really lucky as the rest of the joi-jin already is make-koshi or 6-7. Tokitsuumi, Tochinonada and Toyozakura lost today and demotion to juryo looks likely for them now. Shimotori, Jumonji and Tochisakae all need one win more out of two fights to stay. Toyonoshima beat Tamakasuga to extend his zensho run to 13-0 and clinching the juryo yusho. The Kyokai gets tough on him as he he faces the only rikishi at 10-3 tomorrow, Baruto from the other end of juryo. Toyonoshima will face an healthy promotion to M7 or so, and Katayama, Kasuganishiki and Tochinohana are battling out the other promotion places. -- Doitsuyama Day 13 Juryo Ms5e Kakuryu (5-2) okuridashi J13e Ryuho (5-8) J12w Shiraishi (6-7) katasukashi J11e Masatsukasa (6-7) J14e Dairaido (7-6) oshitaoshi J7w Yoshikaze (8-5) J7e Daishodai (9-4) hatakikomi J13w Yotsukasa (7-6) J6w Kobo (5-8) hatakikomi J11w Raiko (3-10) J9e Kyokunankai (7-6) okuridashi J5w Daimanazuru (5-8) J12e Takanotsuru (5-8) sotogake J5e Toki (2-11) J4w Ushiomaru (6-7) hikiotoshi J9w Kanbayashi (6-7) J4e Senshuyama (5-8) okuritaoshi J10e Asofuji (5-8) J14w Baruto (10-3) hikiotoshi J3w Tochinohana (8-5) J6e Kitazakura (8-5) yorikiri J3e Buyuzan (5-8) J2e Katayama (7-6) yorikiri J10w Kotokasuga (5-8) J1w Toyonoshima (13-0) yoritaoshi J8w Tamakasuga (9-4) J1e Harunoyama (5-8) okuridashi J8e Otsukasa (5-8) Makuuchi J2w Kasuganishiki (7-6) oshidashi M14w Tokitsuumi (3-10) M14e Jumonji (5-8) sukuinage M16e Kasugao (7-6) M13e Kotonowaka (8-5) yorikiri M17w Shimotori (7-6) M12e Hakurozan (7-6) yorikiri M17e Tochinonada (5-8) M12w Ishide (6-7) oshidashi M11w Toyozakura (2-11) M15e Takanowaka (7-6) hatakikomi M11e Ama (7-6) M15w Wakatoba (7-6) okuridashi M10w Roho (7-6) M10e Asasekiryu (5-1-7) hatakikomi M13w Tochisakae (5-8) M8w Tamanoshima (9-4) hatakikomi M4e Iwakiyama (6-7) M3w Kyokutenho (9-4) kotenage M16w Kisenosato (10-3) M3e Dejima (5-8) hikiotoshi M9e Takekaze (6-7) M2w Kokkai (3-10) oshidashi M9w Tamaasuka (4-9) M2e Kakizoe (5-8) oshidashi M8e Tosanoumi (6-7) M1w Hakuho (8-5) yorikiri M7e Hokutoriki (7-6) M6w Tokitenku (6-7) hikiotoshi M1e Miyabiyama (5-8) K1w Futeno (4-9) yorikiri M4w Kyokushuzan (4-9) K1e Kotomitsuki (8-5) hikiotoshi M5e Takamisakari (5-8) O2w Chiyotaikai (10-3) oshidashi M6e Kotoshogiku (7-6) O1w Tochiazuma (9-4) yoritaoshi M5w Aminishiki (6-7) Y1e Asashoryu (11-2) kubihineri S1e Kotooshu (12-1) Day 14 Juryo J12e Takanotsuru (5-8) Ms3e Hochiyama (4-2) J8e Otsukasa (5-8) J10w Kotokasuga (5-8) J13w Yotsukasa (7-6) J8w Tamakasuga (9-4) J7e Daishodai (9-4) J14e Dairaido (7-6) J12w Shiraishi (6-7) J7w Yoshikaze (8-5) J6e Kitazakura (8-5) J9e Kyokunankai (7-6) J9w Kanbayashi (6-7) J6w Kobo (5-8) J5e Toki (2-11) J13e Ryuho (5-8) J4e Senshuyama (5-8) J11e Masatsukasa (6-7) J3e Buyuzan (5-8) J11w Raiko (3-10) J5w Daimanazuru (5-8) J2w Kasuganishiki (7-6) J1e Harunoyama (5-8) J10e Asofuji (5-8) J14w Baruto (10-3) J1w Toyonoshima (13-0) Makuuchi M17e Tochinonada (5-8) J4w Ushiomaru (6-7) M14e Jumonji (5-8) J2e Katayama (7-6) J3w Tochinohana (8-5) M14w Tokitsuumi (3-10) M12e Hakurozan (7-6) M15e Takanowaka (7-6) M17w Shimotori (7-6) M12w Ishide (6-7) M13w Tochisakae (5-8) M11w Toyozakura (2-11) M10e Asasekiryu (5-1-7) M15w Wakatoba (7-6) M13e Kotonowaka (8-5) M10w Roho (7-6) M9e Takekaze (6-7) M16e Kasugao (7-6) M11e Ama (7-6) M6w Tokitenku (6-7) M3e Dejima (5-8) M8e Tosanoumi (6-7) M8w Tamanoshima (9-4) M3w Kyokutenho (9-4) M2e Kakizoe (5-8) M9w Tamaasuka (4-9) M4w Kyokushuzan (4-9) M2w Kokkai (3-10) M1e Miyabiyama (5-8) M7e Hokutoriki (7-6) M4e Iwakiyama (6-7) M1w Hakuho (8-5) K1e Kotomitsuki (8-5) M5w Aminishiki (6-7) M5e Takamisakari (5-8) K1w Futeno (4-9) S1e Kotooshu (12-1) M16w Kisenosato (10-3) M6e Kotoshogiku (7-6) O1w Tochiazuma (9-4) Y1e Asashoryu (11-2) O2w Chiyotaikai (10-3)
Jakusotsu 5,970 Posted September 23, 2005 The most remarkable bout today in my opinion was Kakizoe powering out Tosanoumi. AJ went straight for the former perennial Sekiwake and was all business, beating him at his very own game. Tosanoumi looked totally crushed and had not a single excuse like bad tachi-ai or getting sidestepped. Also quite amusing was Takamisakari being absolutely clueless what to do with Kotomitsukis locked arm. Quick thinking by Mickey to pull Sakke down with the other hand. Araiwa 0 Posted September 23, 2005 And the most concerning bout was Jumonji-Kasugao. Jumonji landed on Kasugao, who seemed to have just reinjured his leg.
