Yusho decided

Toyonoshima got his morozashi and clinched juryo yusho already and now goes for zensho. 13-0. Doesn't look nearly as dominating as 13-0 would suggest. Dominates some bouts well but also needs to work a lot on others and has been in trouble in many bouts too.

Makushita yusho went to Wakakirin who is making his come-back after surgery. He beat an old rikishi coming back from the same operation Tamarikido with hikiotoshi.

Some Yoshio guy secured his 7-0 yusho in sandanme today and Azusayumi in jonokuchi was the only one finishing with 7-0 there. He is from Ounomatsu-beya whose Nakanishi suddenly hit the wall at sandanme after 7-0, 7-0 with authority.

So the remaining ones are makuuchi and jonidan. In jonidan Wakanoho and Nishiuchi have a play-off on senshuraku.

Former mainstay in the bottom half of Makushita (highest rank only Ms20), but has really struggled in the past 2 years, regularly falling back to Sandanme. 31 years old now, and if he goes better than 2-5 next basho I'll eat a banzuke.

Sorry for bringing up this old topic again, but as promised to Tokimori:

After todays loss Yoshio can't go better than 2-5. Kudos to Asashosakari although a picture of him eating the banzuke would have been great for a caption contest. ;)
