The deadline is over, and anybody except poor Tameiki has picked a non-kyujo rikishi. He missed my warning mail by a couple of minutes, and although I wouldn't have been THAT enforcing with a deadline he did not change his pick.

I will update these standings every two days. Come back and see how your guys are doing.

First round:

Here are the current Banzuke Surfing Standings. The top 20 players in this game all started with a shiroboshi. Omedeto!

After two days of action the top dogs are still undefeated. The first in the standings to suffer from a loss are Asashosakari's Shima and both rikishi of Tomoe. Otherwise the usual suspects (Sawai, Tochifudo, Kagemaru, Kageyama, Towanoyama, Nakanishi) keep a clean slate.

charliki's Araki received a fusenpai, i.e. he will be out of competition for some time.

The standings after three rounds:

The gap is widening. While the top players have mostly picked rikishi who are standings at 3-0, the lower ranked players are mostly suffering from losses already. Oshirokita extends his lead via Sawai.

After four days of action we have the first few kachi-koshis. Congrats to leader Oshirokita (Sawai), runner-up Zentoryu (Tochifudo), Yubi (Kaishoryu), the Kageyama supporters, the Nakanishi supporters, Zenjimoto (Wakanoho), and kotooshu_bulgaria (Takahashi).

Going with the "obvious" picks definitely was worthwhile this basho. Sawai, Kageyama, Nakanishi, Wakanoho, Takahashi - none of these guys was a letdown. Hats off to Yubiquitoyama for identifying another 5-0 rikishi who was not discovered by too many others. We have lots of KK to celebrate in the fifth round with the majority of picked rikishi now standing at 4-1. Kintamayama finds himself in an unusual position at the bottom of the barrel.

We're approaching the final standings. Oshirokita is now in a guaranteed position to stay in the lead regardless of Sawai's last bout. Kageyama, Nakanishi, and Takahashi are the other three undefeated rikishi in our ensemble. Among the minor surprises that we've had are a second loss for Kagemaru (against former Juryo Tochifudo), a second loss for former Makuuchi Towanoyama, and a first loss for Russian Wakanoho.
