Rensho question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

since Asa chalked up another zensho, the following question came to mind:

for counting the number of wins in a Rensho (winning streak), do they start counting from the start of this basho, or from the last bout he lost during the previous basho?

From the last time he lost.

I think this puts him on a streak of 17 (as he last lost on day 13 of the last basho against Tochiazuma. I know, I threw a zabuton ;-))

I think a guy made 69 before WW2... Chiyonofuji has 53... That's all what I know.

That guy was Futabayama (You are going off-topic...)

his rensho (including 5 consecutive zensho Yusho) promoting him from Sekiwake to Yokozuna B-)

Actually, the run started at Maegashira 3. and note that there were also three other zensho yusho in there after that, and one other 30+ rensho run. does anyone know how long that one was?

and note that truly frightening career winning percentage....
