Kintamayama 38,263 Posted May 6, 2005 (edited) For the adventurous gamers out there (and I know there are more than a handful..) I warmly recommend the G1 game, a pre-Basho game. It appears to be one of those "totall crapshoot" games, but is it? The principle is simple-you have to guess a winner for each day of the basho IN ADVANCE. Ozeki and upwards can be guessed only from day 9 and onwards. All you have to know in Japanese is the kanji for the shikona. Enter your name , youer e-mail, then pick a rikishi for day 1, day 2, and so on down to day 15 and the substitutes. Think about it-there are certain rikishi who always bloom in the second part of the basho, and vice versa.. Anyhow, it is one of the few games which has nearly no foreign players, but has more than 140 participants. Zenjimoto is the only one in Makuuchi, I'm languishing in Juryo, and my mate Tominishiki is in Makushita. A 10-5 is considered very good. Deadline is Sunday 16:00 JST. Then, there is the most difficult of them all-the G1 quiz. You are asked 15 questions, and the correct number of answers are your wins. An 8-7 here can take the yusho. If anyone is interested, I will translate the entry form here. Again, Zenji is in Makuuchi, I am in Juryo, but with Doitsuyama, and I believe Zeokage is in Makushita. Entry form for those who can: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~taka_cha/gform.html Edited June 2, 2005 by Kintamayama
Kintamayama 38,263 Posted May 6, 2005 OK, here are the rules: 01-1- Who will win the yusho? 01-2- Second choice for yusho winner 02-What will be the yusho record? (first choice is zensho, the rest is easy to easy.) 03- Asashouryuu's wins (First choice-zensho, other choices, number of wins. If it says 12~13, you get the drift..) 04- Hakuhou's wins 05-Tosanoumi's wins 06-Kotomitsuki's wins 07-Wakanosato's wins 08-Tamanoshima's wins 09-Rohou's wins 10- Kokkai's wins 11-Kaihou's wins 12-Takamisakari's wins 13-Ama's wins 14-Kotoshoogiku's wins 15-Katayama's wins Tie-breakers/subs 01-How many Sanyaku rikishi will get Sansho? (1,2, and 3 or more) http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~taka_cha/yform.html 11-Of the 42 rikishi, how many wll get KK? Deadline- Sunday 16:00 JST

Thanks for thinking I'm Japanese, mate. I'm right below Zenjimoto. My 8-7 last basho let me stay on M7e.
