When you watch a game in which you don't mind who is going to win, all you want is a good game with a lot of goals. And boy, did we get that yesterday... Everyone was afraid of that 0-0/extra time/ penalty kicks finals syndrome, but turned out fantastic!!

apparently the area around the stadium has never seen such a sight - literally thousands of Turks walking round wondering where they'd left their car after all the parties had died down.

Apparently, at the same time - across town, the British Consul was inundated with Liverpudlians wanting to arrange papers for cars they'd 'purchased' while in town. Nice little souvenir and all that.

Didn't see any news coverage on that. Aren't you sure that it must have been MILLIONS of cars? I mean, literally?

OK then. Guess that makes me this week's top contender for the category "smartass gone bad"...

of course I am joking - they've already got the ones they nicked in England to drive over to Turkey - seat set in position, Kylie Minogue CDs and shell suit jackets in the boot - wouldn't need others. (Bleh!)

(adere - 'stereotype'? - Japanese friend has visited Liverpol twice - once no worries, second time, when visiting the Cathedral he parked out front - busy street and lots of people about.

Came back to see the car being driven off - gave chase in a friend's car and whole thing came to a halt a few hundred meters away when the police stopped the stolen vehicle - speeding IIRC.

Anyway - police pulled the 2 criminals out and asked 'why aren't you in school?' eh, eh, eh? Both under 15. - Welcome to Liverpool' My friend hasn't been back since. :-)

It's been a tough time for a while,

I'd say 'a while' - what was the last major European tropyh won? (Uefa Cup being unimportant when all is said and done) Was it 83? ish?

Personally have never forgiven the scousers for condemning the rest of the UK teams to years of non-entry because of the Heysel game and murdering dozens of Italians and Belgians. Won't even start on the 96? they killed in Sheffield with the fences around England and the removal of standing areas the result. Proud team the 'pool'?

And being a proper red - from Manchester have enjoyed the last 2 decades no-end bar for these horrible events.

Would love to see them win the European Cup then not be allowed to appear next yer because they finish behind Everton.

However, as far as Japan is concerend, I hope Milan win. Should Liverpool come here, spending their hard earned giros on the way, Ishihara will have a valid point about crime in the city. :-/ (plus just happen to know a few Milan fans so tickets won't be a worry for Toyota Cup)

Get the point our kid, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh? B-)

It's not easy being a manure fan, is it? :-)

Sometimes your team wins. Sometimes your team loses. Sometimes a rival team wins. Sometimes they don't.....

But what is with all this fanatical support for various Premiership teams on a Sumoforum???????

I'm somewhat bemused.....

well .... i guess there are some things that predate the love for Sumo in the case of certain people (such as myself) and these things are hard to supress .... :-)
