Well, let's not kill this interesting discussion of the new banzuke just because of the ill-measured words of a single member. After all I am sure that amgaa99 didn't mean to be as impolite as he sounded... ;-)

Anyways, the new banzuke and especially the sanyaku situation looks like a too big predicament to me, plus my low scoring record in the GTB makes me unwilling to post my prediction here... (Clapping wildly...)

BTW, is there any probability that Hayateumi retires due to his poor physical condition? (In a state of confusion...)

Perhaps not, but it's not like it is the first time amgaa99 posts a similar request with a similar wording.

Unless Hayateumi is seriously crippled, I don't see any reason for him to retire.

I too would prefer Wakanosato over Tamanoshima.

I hate to see revolving doors in Sanyaku, and Tamanoshima just has not shown any ability to stay there.

If Tosanoumi *had* been M4, things might have been different ... I was thinking of his actual rank of M3. One rank lower but two (wins-losses) better than Kotomitsuki.

My personal Moe-Zumo opinion is, that when there are four sanyaku without the Ozeki and three of them loose their rank, there will be no extra sekiwake slot.

In my humble opinion the demoted Makuuchi Rikishi could find themselves there in Natsu Basho:

Ishide (6-9): Maegashira 17 => Juryu 3

Kasugao (1-14): Maegashira 11 => Juryu 4 :'-(

Otsukasa (4-11): Maegashira 16 => Juryu 6

Kotoryu (0-15): Maegashira 12 => Juryu 7

Kasuganishiki (1-14): Maegashira 14 => Juryu 8

Yes. I must admit that I wanted to 'reward' Kasugao for his immortal fighting spirit. :-O

(I let Kasugao fall 10 slots, while Kasuganishiki lost 11 ranks - although both had the same record.)
