Mark Buckton 1 Posted March 26, 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/4379851.stm connected to this - in ozumo discussions. Personally pants are (Sign of disapproval) for myself but some sekitpri DID wear a form of underwear under their mawashi in the late 50s that I know of - inc. the then Wakanohana IIRC - have a vid somewhere. Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted March 27, 2005 (edited) There seem to be a misunderstanding here. Never was it anywhere said or even in the slightest implied that pants would be an option in Ozumo. The whole discussion is about ama-zumo, kiddie-zumo and what else. To say something on the actual topic: I would like to abolish pants in shin-zumo as well. (Applauding...) hoshidango 0 Posted March 27, 2005 Well to be honest, I am never thrilled with watching guy's butts, so my dream is to cover that up somehow without perceivably looking odd- I just picture it as odd though...
Tomoe 0 Posted March 29, 2005 If somebody want to wear pants he should try another sport... :-) Only possible exeption I can think of: women in Amasumo should wear something beneath... so it remain sport not a "hunt for anatomy detail's" competition (Blushing...) Elenrian 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Pants = no sumo! (Sign of disapproval) (Sign of disapproval) (Sign of disapproval) Pants = freestyle Sumo = style (Blushing...) What an odd idea! :-)
Yasashiyama 0 Posted March 29, 2005 I'm kinda torn between both sides. If I aprove of pants then I'm not supporting of a tradition. If I don't my friends will make fun of me. They already know I follow Ozumo and make sure that they don't like it. I might as well lay on the floor and die... (Blushing...) But just to be safe I think it should stay the way it is now.
